If you're facing ground unit, block both entrance to your base with 4-5 bunkers and a ton of tank behind (hero tank, normal tank), and constantly have 2-3 scv repair them. You can ignore the entrance to the relic since the zerg will go for your bunkers. Make banshee to snipe the nydus

If you're facing air unit, make as many viking as you can (2 starport with reactor work well usually), and a few bunkers/tank to defend against ground. (might want to put 1 firebats in each since you will see lot of zergling). Kill the big guy when it show up.

If you have psi disruptor, use it against ground unit. If you have the mind control tower, use it as often as you can on ultralisk/broodlord.

I played vs Air and had Mind Control tower. The Broodlords didn't often get within range of them, but the Mutas always did. By the end of it, I had something like 40 Mutas Mind Controlled. I just used those to kill the boss (plus Yamato and the few tanks I had behind my Bunkers) whenever it appeared.

Also, if you went vs Nydus, I strongly recommend you go back and do the mission to disable the Nydus Worms. It was every bit as epic as the Protoss Hero mission (you know the one I'm talking about).

I used the mind control strat for my vs. air brutal run as well. The brood lords will be in range of the mind control towers so long as they are the closest building to them (if a turret or bunker is between the tower and the brood lord for instance, it won't come close enough). By the end of one of my runs I had over 4 full pages of mutalisks (each page is 24 I believe, so thats pretty much >100 mutalisk) as well as a good 30-40 brood lords. Nothing could really come close. Beat brutal this way without using the psi thingy even once, and without being in any danger at all near the end.

Just did a 3v3 where it was

    Us: Terran, Toss, Toss
    Them: Zerg, Toss Terran

I was terran on my team and just decided to go all marines and meds. No one rushed, so we all had armies. My marines were 2/2 Upgraded with shield and stim. They decided to attack me first. I was 180ish/200 population and they came at me with Thors, marines, marauders, Ultras, voids. I only lost 30 units. My team didn't even get to me before I finished them off.

The only thing remotely good against a large marines ball in that list is ultralisk, but assuming you were not in the middle of an open field, chance the got stuck is high . They needed templar, collosus, infestor, tanks (with fodder in front)..if they didnt scan before charging in this late in the game, they were kinda stupid.

People get into this mindset that, "well we have 3x the units he can have so we'll stomp him no matter what position he's in"

It's happened to me before; I had like 15 zerglings and I attacked 2 zealots at my teammate's mineral line because shit, I have way more and ~4 zerglings > 1 zealot. But because the zealots were in between mineral patches I somehow lost all of my zerglings.

They should have scanned but.. I wouldn't blame them if they just thought they'll roll over this player.

Well that was funny. I went from silver straight to platinum in random 2v2. How the heck does it skip gold?

so basically when mission starts asap build 4-5 bunkers on all 3 entrances? then 3-4 siege tanks and billions of marines and just ave the energy nova for the overlord stage? because it's like right when I use it, kerrigan appears out of nowhere decimates me.

Overlord stage isnt bad if you build a bunch of upgraded turret on the south side of the map. You usually have plenty of money for it. If you're doing it on hard for the achievement, I would save it for the very end (~92%). If you dont care about it, just use it whenever your bunker are in danger.

You need more than 3-4 siege tanks. I had a factory with fusion core building them non stop until I reach max supply (had maybe 20 banshee to snipe nydus, and rest of tank/marine).

Another trick I found is to send 5 marine+medic in every bunker, and set all your bunker on a single hotkey. You can use stimpack on everything whenever you need. It make your bunker hit much harder.

For Kerrigan you need a lot of marines, 25-30 marines burn through he in like five seconds. She has a built in harden shield ability like the immortal so things like tanks and banshees aren't very effective against her.

I knew you could stim from bunkers, but Medics heal inside them too?!? That's awesome, even if it's only useful in campaign.

This is definitely good advice, makes a huge difference when dealing with Kerrigan to have a ton of fast hitting small units like marines. Watch out for her storm though (looks different than regular storm), it will eat up a lot of marines that are too tightly packed and without enough medics.

When I did the mind control strategy, the broodlings from the brood lords held her back and made her focus on the fodder, but before (and even after) I had enough of them, I was constantly spamming marines and medics to both sides.

What is a good way for Protoss to break into a heavily fortified Terran base (big choke wall, siege tanks, and a lot of SAM towers + army)? I have a hard enough time taking out an expansion with siege tanks and missile tower defense, but with a big wall off I'm not sure how to do it.

Another question is how to deal with a group battlecruisers (5-8ish) as Protoss? I tried phoenix, but that was just awful lol. Stalkers seemed to do ok, but it seems like you'd need a ton of them. Are void rays worth trying?

    1) Don't bother, if they are spending money on defense take advantage and out expand and take map control. It's a losing battle to try and break that, your better off denying or delaying expansions while you expand yourself but don't forget to build your forces because I have lost a match or 2 trying to pump probes and expand which overextended myself and let his army beat mine and overrun me.

    2) Stalkers work best and micro with blink. Carriers/Void Rays will chew through them but remember they are a heavy investment so 1 VR isn't going to do it, you need like 2.5+ voidrays per BC to stand a chance resource wise or about 4-5 stalkers. If you can't throw that many units at them you should have scouted sooner or built a bigger force.

EDIT: Actually Templars rape those and BC's with feedback. You can easily take their whole fleet to 50% health with feedbacks and then just pile on your stalkers/VR's and your gold.

Phoenix is for light armor units or harassing, using them on those is like telling marines to kill a colossus which is a bad idea.

IMO, Void Ray against BC is a bad idea, 1 yamato = dead ray. And if they have 6-7 bcs, all your rays are gone.
If you're playing in lower leagues it sucks, cause all people do is turtle and cheese, its a pain in the ass. I like the higher leagues cause you actually face people who do strategy, and some people do cheese, but they are better at it, i guess.

Any Diamonds or high ranked plats up for 1v1s maybe tomorrow, i'm helping a friend move, then i got work right after. I need to work on it, and just playing my buddy doesn't work. I'm getting owned by diamonds, but plats i pretty much win most the time, idk why. Maybe i just need to stop playing random in league games.

I just had too few stalkers, if you need 4-5 per battlecruiser. I'll try that next time. These games were vs. my cousin and we won't be able to play again until next weekend.

He defends his expansions with 2-4 tanks, ~4 SAM towers around the command center, and a few marines. I think I can take them out fairly easily with immortals next time.

Templar + Stalkers are the way to go against BC's. Hit them with feedback and they go down quickly. Templar + Voidray works as well but is quite gas heavy.

Anyone else having an issue with instantly being dropped from battle.net?

I don't even get to see the timer, just gives me the surrender option.

This started happening to me too after I switched the modulation of my router from ADSL2+ to ADSL. B.net seems to handle them differently.

Very freaking annoying. I dropped from Diamond to low rank Plat cause of all the fucking d/c's. >_<
