It doesn't help that most of the live events are set up in such a way that crown noise is actually muffled so stream viewers can hear the commentators clearly. Works pretty well for in-game situations, but it makes it sound like day is leading a failing chant and really removes a lot of the excitement from certain situations. I've seen this happen at other live events from both perspectives, and usually the crowd response is much more significant than you'd hear on the stream. The lead in the commentators provide sounds much less forced and is usually drowned out by cheers before they even finish. Not certain this is the case at the ESL, but I'm sure it sounded at least a little less awkward live.
