ugh keep getting scrub'd in the lower diamond ranks. finally hit under rank 30 and then got GG'd like 5 times in a row which bumped me back to 61

i hate it when you play sc2 too much and you start to freeze up during some matches from trying too hard.

What owns me in diamond is terrans, either a mar push or sneaky banshee, or a proxy reaper, just ugh, toss i can usually keep the harass up and keep him at a 1 base. I don't play a lot of Ladder games simply because of the chance that i'll choke up pretty bad. I keep it at around 3-4 ladder games a day if i'm in the play sc all day mood. Which i haven't been lately, work gogo.

I only seem to get beat by cheese now, I haven't lost a straight up game in about a week. TvT is the worst for that, the last six TvT's I've played have all been me getting cheesed in various ways. They either need to add more 4 player maps to the map pool, or change the layout of some of them. I shouldn't have to but I've actually started sending out a scout right off the start just to make sure I'm not getting proxy'd. If it wasn't for those games I'd be up over 1000 points by now. I'm actually starting to think that most of the Terrans in Diamond are only there because they abuse shit like early reapers/early banshee's with cloak/whatever else they can get an easy win with and don't know how to play a straight up game. When I play a zerg or toss they seem so caught off guard when I go for an early expand build as T.

Hasn't happened to me as much in higher level plat(helps I don't 1v1 regularly though) but try to do what the pro players do and adjust your build to stall and accommodate.

Destiny Cloud Fist build is a good example. You get a early viking if you suspect something and can easy move the tech lab to your starport and grab a raven.

Also if someone is banshee rushing why are you not rushing them? I have done that build before and you have next to no money from having to use 6 SCV's on gas so your minerals are low to begin with and you don't have money to make anything other then a few marines which any decent push will destroy.

Also if I see an early terran expand I nydus in the back of your base and roll you over with something awesome :D

Nydus in the back of terran is something is started doing recently...usually work well. However, it only works against bad players...good terran are so fucking hard to approach.

Depends on what they roll with. Infestors with Hydra/Ling/Roach shit on MMM balls and if you send in ultras first to take the tank hits you can steamroll their ball.

I did park an ultra or 2 at the bottem of a ramp to tank the siege/marines damage then rolled 20 banelings up the front ramp then walked right in, works pretty well.

That or a doom drop can be effective.

It seems now though no matter what game I play I'm always making infestors as they seem to be so useful and are great harass because honestly who makes detectors vs zerg? Run a 200 energy to a probe line, make 2 infested terran then double fungal growth all the workers and you will see them die faster then a DT drop and they can't run either.

I'd rather face a terran doing reaper and banshee openings than more standard builds any day. I really really hate marauders, so bad.

I should start playing my 1v1s soon now that I have all my other achievements done. I'm so out of practice playing ones though, outside of doing my placements and a couple games afterwards, I haven't really played many 1v1s at all since like mid-beta lol.

ive hit that mentality i think. started playing nothing but custom melee maps yesterday just to play and improve but at the same time just because i really like 1v1s but didn't wanna risk losing ranks.

Anyone play that new Burning Tides map by blizzard? Really helps your macro and micro game, and if you're into harassment, it helps you there too. Also helps to prevent getting harassed.

All they've said is there working on it. They want it to be different then Wings of Liberty. The stuff they did for The terran campaign wont work for the zerg campaign, nor will the zerg campaign style work for the protoss campaign style. They are changing the way you progress through the story pretty much.

Check the ranks of the people you've been beating, from my experience that's usually the best sign as to whether or not you're coming up on a promotion. 60% win rate isn't too big of an indicator unless those wins have consistently been against people who are in a league above you, at which point the system will eventually realize it needs to correct your placement and reevaluate you. Your score and win percentage aren't really going to reveal to you when you are at that point in time though, your opponents ranks are.

Been facing all Platinum with some Diamond. Logged on tonight and faced only Diamond players but I just can't seem to beat Diamond protoss

It actually is surprisingly effective against me, but I rarely do much robo tech which hurts my success against it. Stargate tech strats decimate an early pure marauder strat though. Even when I do robo tech I often have troubles with those really early 1 marauder 2 marine push into constant pressure until they have a small ball of marine marauder that ends the game.

I might be able to play with you some time though, I'm a diamond protoss player.

That would be cool. Every protoss I seem to face techs straight for HT's and then gets Zealot Legs which just demolish my MMM. I'm not the best with EMPs at the moment so every time they land I've already been carpetstormed and my whole force is dead! One game I played the dude went Immortal + HT heavy with some chargelots and a small amount of Stalkers, I had no idea how to fight that. Marauders suck versus immortals but can survive storms, but Marines own immortals yet just get demolished by storms, Tanks vs Chargelots isn't a pretty sight either. Honestly thinking of trying 1/1/2 against Protoss.

Once you get good with ghosts, HT and immortal combo is like paper. Also 2-3 ravens with full energy makes stalkers completly worthless

Raven is underused because average Terran player just wants to 1a his way to victory, or is only able to 1a his way to victory.
