some points though:
a 75 nin tank doesn't use evasion. why do you think people wear so much -% damage gear on nin tank? evasion tanking is not a practical method of tanking at all on anything that takes more than a few people to kill, sans thorny's groups of super hero ffxi guys

funny mentioning evasion tanking is bad on pld and then implying blind and flash(aside from aggro) are important at all lol

you don't need an aegis(which is kind of what you're saying) to tank well on pld. in fact even basic gear is fine, you just need to know how to play properly. that would imply being skilled at keeping shadows up and holding aggro. this game is not hard...

i have never played pld beyond level 70 in my 7 years of playing ffxi. this is entirely second hand point of view on how things should be done as a pld tank.

Things don't stand out enough with default colors. When I was first leveling, I struggled to see status effects until I turned them a bright yellow. There's not enough distinction between /ls and /p in default, either. I'm legally blind in my left eye, though, so that has some to do with it. I needed as much difference between colors as I could get.

Steven's color hurts my eyes, too, because there's not enough contrast, but I had to adjust all of my colors to show more contrast because of my eyesight.

I am legally blind in both eyes suppppp. For real though default colors work fine sans changing maybe enfeebling stuff on you. I used to use default colors and liked everything then one day I decided to change a whole bunch of stuff and eventually got used to it. None of my colors are as bad as steven's unreadable blue on black shit though.
