Weirdest limit edition packcage for a game that I've seen(besides Halo 3's MC head).

The story progresses through various points plotted on a map. By visiting each point, the player has to battle the creatures, complete a quest, visit a town or go through a conversation to advance through the storyline and open up more points.

Fighting plays out like a strategic RPG where each character has his/her own set of moves, but by moving each character to an appropriate square, you can chain characters together and pull off combos. After each round of combat, each character will regenerate AP and accumulate SP points. When enough SP points have been accumulated, characters can unleash special attacks.

The game includes dating sim elements through its "Soul Breed" system which allows the player to create a new character by pursuing a relationship with a female character.[5]

Aksys Games plans to release the game in North America under the title Record of Agarest War. The game will be released as a download (almost 10 GBs) on the PlayStation Network, and on disc for Xbox 360. Aksys has recently stated on their forums that the release has now been pushed back to 2010. [8]

I'll check it out because it looks like it plays sort of like Cross Edge.

I'll check it out because it looks like it plays sort of like Cross Edge.

They're almost identical, Agarest War's system is like a less refined and slightly more rough around the edges version of Cross Edge's. Supposedly aside from some kinks with the battle system it's a good game, and not really at all how they're marketing it.

Damned if I'd ever buy something that came with shit like that though, that stuff is just freaky.

Today Examiner.com reports that Record of Agarest War is hitting PSN this Thursday, however, they note it will require nearly 10GB of PS3 HDD space to install and close to 18GB of hard disk drive space to begin the download.

To quote:

"PS3 owners will have the ability to purchase the game via PSN and download it right to their PS3 for safe storage. If you plan to buy it from the PSN Store this week, be prepared for a lengthy download and huge file size.

Record of Agarest War for the PS3 totals at 9228MB, but you'll need close to 18GB of space to begin the download. This download will take gamers a long time to complete - with it ranging based on your own connection speed.

At this moment, the estimated time for the download is a few hours on our connection."

Well, I can sure as hell tell you that I agree with you in terms of that "Really Naughty Edition" that Gamestop is carrying. I can't even imagine purchasing something with a breast mousepad and body pillow cover without wearing a paper bag over my head during the transaction.

Supposedly it's really not that bad, but I can't imagine spending anything over 19.99 or 29.99 tops for it.

Certainly not 59.99 for the "naughty" edition that they're trying to pass off on 360 owners.

I was kinda looking into this game as the gameplay seems ok and from what I've read in the reviews, it's really not as pervy as the marketing team lead us to believe. My question is, when looking for the game, is it ONLY available in this limited edition shit? That's all Amazon had. How do you call it a limited edition if they aren't even selling the game by itself only?

It's like a lot of the games NISA and Atlus release, in which case I'm guessing they can get away with the term "Limited Edition" in the sense that it's part of a limited run of pressings of the disc. I don't know.

But to answer the question, no, there's no 360 version I've seen that doesn't come in the box with the extra stuff.

Starting to wish there was a physical release for PS3. There's no way I can get 18gb free for just the installation itself unless Sony decided to allow downloading files to a USB drive or something. ;/
(I used to think that filling my 80gb drive would be impossible on a console, boy was I wrong....)
