How i understand it is the maintenance they anounced in game has nothing to do with the FFXI servers just the POL registration servers and who know what they are doing right now to fix the login servers.

But again, as I posted before, this maintenance, if anyone would bother to read, is for the registration server.

Meaning, from the site, you'll be unable to:

Register or unsubscribe PlayOnline accounts
- Review or update member information
- Review, purchase, cancel, or reactivate Content IDs
- Purchase expansion pack registration codes
- Apply for the World Transfer Service
- Access PlayOnline Membership Information from the official PlayOnline web site (http://www.playonline.com)
- Register Reward Codes
- Apply for the Character Reactivation Service
- Purchase Security Tokens

Nothing to do with logging into POL, FFXI, EQ2, WoW, Aion, bigblackdicks.com, or anything else.

Now if the other people are right and it was announced ingame, everything I'm saying is moot. Just kind of odd not to have it posted on the SE website yet.

It's pretty much confirmed that there's a 3-hr maintenance to fix this login issue.

On Feb 18, from 19:00 to 22:00 (PST), we will be performing playonline emergency maintenance.

this just popped up again in game. its playonline thats broken. It may be a 10 minute fix or a 3 hour fix, either way, get a life for 3 hours.
