I wasn't attempting to discredit the story personally, but Domon said there had been no argument against the game's quality that was clear cut, and I attempted to hatchet one together using only comments posted in this very thread.

I thought having several opinions and observations detailing what people felt were the shortcomings would do a lot to show I wasn't simply trying to say that the game was bad because it was different, as Domon cited as being the only argument he had seen against the game.

    But please, dance with me.

No, I said the majority of the game could be managed by a set of gambits on every character
Even the stupidest anti-XII tard wouldn't claim such a thing. You are blatantly lying.

I played more than 5 hours. I went and found a walk through and tried to find about where I stopped playing. I'm pretty sure I made it to Archades, right before the fight with Cid. Then I just stopped playing.
Hey people, I read the first 50 pages of les miserables. The story fucking sucks, what a lame book.

Hey people, I read the first 50 pages of les miserables. The story fucking sucks, what a lame book.
According to the walk through, there are only about 8 areas in between where I stopped and the end of the game's main story. That's maybe 20 percent of the game left? A far cry from reading 50 or the well over 1000 pages in most translations of Les Miserables. Also, I never directly said the story sucked, simply used the comments of others in an attempt to form a base of an argument against the game's quality.

Oh, and if you look at how many different separate encounters there are in FFXII, how many of them do you think were trash or lesser monsters or enemies that could be handled by using only gambits? I didn't say all, I never said all, I said a majority, and besides calling me a liar, you have said nothing against it.

You could list specific groups of monsters in certain areas that use special abilities that make it much harder for a gambit group to succeed, or some situation that is encountered very often that gambits are simply ill equipped to handle.

    Edit: And videos!

Here are some videos I found after a few minutes of searching where various bosses throughout the game are handled with gambits only:

You don't even seem to know/remember what gambits actually do.

First of all, at the beginning of the game you've got only a limited number of gambits you can set and they are mostly for routine tasks to provide a fluid battle system for the player.

You'd set gambits for having your tank use the ability for enmity control, having your mage cast a fire-based spell and protect his distance from certain enemies, use ranged attacks when necessary, etc.

how many of them do you think were trash or lesser monsters or enemies that could be handled by using only gambits?
So you'd prefer a rigid, shitty battle system where you have to spam "attack" on a monster 20 levels below you to a fluid system where you can pre-set the routine tasks like engaging an enemy?

Oh, and there was the random battle shit where the game had to switch to a battle arena just because your party has encountered an invisible random bug that's 50 levels below you. Spamming "X" button definitely made those battles strategic and FUN, didn't it?

    *Party encounters an invisible bug*

*Screen cracks, battle music starts playing*

    *player spams attack*

    *bug dies*

*Victory fanfare* (LOLOLOL, spiky haired hero swings his sword around and gives a hot look to the camera for killing a bug that's 50 levels below him) And while this shit's happening, they game is actually loading the regular world map/whatever

    How FUN! ENGAGING! EXCITING! STRATEGIC!!!!!!!!!
