Toslink cables

Need to find someplace to buy durable toslink cables that don't cost an arm and a leg, and also isn't Monoprice (bought one there, the plastic shell around the optic core broke off INSIDE THE PORT when I attempted to remove it to do some cable routing...had to dig it out with a screwdriver, that was fun.)

Suggestions? Need like 3 ish 6-10'

Belkin makes some durable toslink cables. Newegg has some of the Belkin 12' cables for about $14. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16812123037

The Belkins are pretty good.

Monoprice is fine, just don't buy the cheapest one and expect it to be better build quality than a $15+ cable.

um not sure if iam thinking of the right thing since i dont use toslink cables often but arent you saposed to remove the little plastic cap first before using it?

the 1 that came with my ps3's 5.1 headset the instructions said to pull the little plastic caps off before using

He meant the physical end of the cable that secures the cable in the socket, not the plastic cap to protect the optics.

The Belkins are pretty good.

Monoprice is fine, just don't buy the cheapest one and expect it to be better build quality than a $15+ cable.

I buy monoprice stuff all the time, I love the place. But shit doesn't have to be high quality to not disintegrate the second I plug it in...

That plastic bit is what broke. It won't even go in the socket with the protective caps on, and it definitely was in the socket fine (cable worked great and everything). Just went to pieces when I tried to remove it.

I got the Belkins, looks fine for my purposes. Thanks dudes
