Nin doesn't inherently suck. Just that if you put X amount of effort into ninja, you'll get less for that effort than if you're put the same amount into almost any other job. I used to love ninja, was my favourite job for a long long time, but them's the breaks. Out-classed as a tank by rdm, pld, and drk on high level mobs; outclassed as a DD tank by mnk, war, and samurai on merit level and lower mobs; outclassed by thf and maybe even dnc for evasion tanking. The only things it's "best" for are incredibly niche, and I'm not even sure if it's the best for any of them.

Because all the things NIN can do can be outpreformed by other jobs.

A 26% haste capped ACC full DW NIN w/ the OAT Katana and a good offhand (Blau or a good Katana depending on mob) should be pretty boss in say, Einherjar or city Dynamis. On Nyzul birds they're not very good, and as a tank, well, they're a DRK tank with gimped Souleater, no spikes vs. one extra shadow and more PDT; a bit safer, but then again RDM is your #1 safety tank anyway and DRK is the damagey tank.

The HP boost on those is a complete and utter joke. They are overpriced to begin with. Augmented Fey weapons and Magian weapons are capable of being far far far better than those. There's just no current point to having them, let alone permanently augmenting them with doodoo+1.
