way too many PLD's dont realise shield skill is only useful for casting utsus Ichi. the rest of the time, PDT reduces more damage, more reliably.

That's not the point. Obviously it would be idiotic to use a Terra's Staff instead of a shield if blocking is an option, but you claimed that some things simply cannot be tanked by a paladin because they lack the ability to wear a 50% PDT set, which is retarded.

A PLD in 23% PDT and a shield is going to mitigate essentially the same(if not inconsequentially less) amount of damage as a NIN in 50% PDT, all while contributing significantly more to overall party dynamic.

And honestly, if your only justification for thinking NIN isn't trash is because its better than PLD, lol. RDM, DRK, SAM, and WAR all are better tanks than PLD and NIN, depending on which is most suited for the situation.

This conversation is taking a bit of a weird turn. Regardless, PLD is as gimped a tank for Nosferatu as NIN is for any other NM. Sure, you can do it, but why bother? It would probably be the same for Khromasoul if he was a little harder.

pld can tank it, but overthrow does a hell of a lot more than the 200-400 it does to me.

and vamp gaze attack dooms (which can still kill if slow to react/not many cursnas), not to mention, I've not seen a pld live through it's 2hr.

NIN takes half dmg, pld takes more, depending on how much pdt he/she are wearing.
