Just because he had a prepared statement and read off cards doesn't mean he wasn't sincere. The guy went up in front of 150 million people worldwide and told everyone that everything was 100% completely his fault. That's more than can be said of A-Rod, McGwire, Clemens, Clinton, etc. Just because he read off notes and was nervous as fuck doesn't mean he wasn't sincere. There's people who "speak from the heart" nothing but complete bullshit.

Tiger said the most honest and sincere statement I've ever heard an athlete say. Paraphrasing

"I thought I was better than everyone else, I told myself that the rules don't apply to me" Every athlete thinks that, noone admits it. He went on to say that the rules should apply to him as they do to everyone else.

True, just sharing how I saw it. Cheating in baseball isn't as heinous a crime as cheating on your wife with however many women in my mind. It's not like he had much choice in admitting it was his fault, not sure who else he could have pinned the blame on. "Sex addiction" I guess but I'm sure he and his PR people are smart enough to know how bad that would look if he didn't accept the blame himself. The whole thing just seemed pointless to me, maybe other people who are bigger golf/Tiger fans were more interested.

The affluent and passive approach to steroid use has lead to countless deaths and destroyed lives. Tiger's wife will be just fine, so will his kids, that can't be said about everyone who used steroids.

I'm not talking about steroid use as a whole, just in the context of those individual athletes who basically cheated the fans of a clean sport. If we were talking about that wrestler that killed his family, that is obviously a different story. I don't think Tiger's wife and kids will get over it like nothing happened but we can agree to disagree.
