I have a feeling these people don't know about the nerf (mostly). Granted, I still use the XM8 LMG and it got nerfed, but that's because I like the feel of the gun. I suppose these people could feel the same way. But unless you subscribe to forums, gaming websites, or battlefield's blog, you would have no way of finding out that anything happened yesterday. You would be like "wtf" when you had 3 motion mines instead of 2.
But I have played with the M60 postnerf and I can say (after using it in prenerf a significant amount) it definitely takes 2-3 seconds longer to kill someone, and that can make all the difference in the world. Almost 5 seconds long range too.

Fucking. Yes. Please.A new downloadable mode will soon be available for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 that introduces cooperative gameplay to consoles.
Onslaught Mode allows four players to team up across four objective-based multiplayer maps – Valparaiso, Atacama Desert, Isla Inocentes, and Nelson Bay. The maps have been "redesigned" with new lighting, time of day, added vehicles and other effects, according to Electronic Arts.
"We're thrilled to bring something new and fresh to Battlefield: Bad Company 2 while still keeping Battlefield's signature gameplay intact," says Patrick Bach, Senior Producer at DICE. "We want to consistently support the over 4 million fans playing the game with new ways to get into multiplayer and also challenge the elite players with new experiences to improve their performance online.
"Effective squad play is the key to success in Battlefield: Bad Company 2 multiplayer and this new mode will provide players with a dedicated environment to test their team skills and rank against the competition."
No price or release date was given. EA says the new mode is "coming soon" to PlayStation Network and Xbox Live. Stay tuned for our impressions at a later date.
Looks awesome. I'm assuming this means co-op online. Split screen would be awesome too so I can play with my brothers, but I doubt that would happen.
Depends how hard the AI is, but I can't see this being much of a challenge unless they completely overwhelm you Left 4 Dead style.
Do you use magnum? Takes the same amount of shots to kill close range post and pre nerf unless they've taken residual damage already(25 per shot now and it was 31.25 before).
Long range was the only place where it was impacted, going from 25 damage per shot to 20.875 meaning it takes 5 bullets long range instead of 4.
Gotta say that eyeballing is pretty ineffective, especially when you think the gun's supposed to perform badly.
What are the MG3's new stats? Also, where did you get these stats. I only have pre-nerf figures.
This guy's pretty good with keeping things current:

Arrows indicate changes.
Oh cool thanks. It doesn't have the May 11 update stats, which were only a few guns, but it is pretty up to date.
New 257 drivers from nVidia get rid of the horrible DX11 map load time. If you were like me, forcing DX10 because you couldn't deal with the long wait... download these shits and go back to DX11.
They also increased my FPS from 60avg/80max to about 75avg/140max with high everything 1920x1200.. so download them regardless.
This series has annoyed me so much.
1942 and Vietnam were great, but since they have been dumbing the series down, narrowing the field of what you can do.
I personally wish they would leave the singleplayer campaign type play to franchises like Medal of Honor.
I also really miss the epic bot battles from 1942, taking on a literal army of bots with a friend over LAN or something.
Sure the Multiplayer in BC2 is pretty decent, but there comes a time you want a change of pace from kids with max rank 1shotting you with the GOL every time you move, it would be nice just to fly around mowing down bots for a bit every now and again, thats what used to be different about the Battlefield franchise, but it seems no more..
Not even sure what you're bitching about. What is stopping you from 'mowing down' the recons, exactly? If you want to fly around, play conquest on Atacama or rush on Isla Innocentes/Valparaso
Its more a general dislike for the way the series has removed features as it has progressed(the tiny maps and game scale in BF2 springs to mind, although admittedly its been upped again now), only to add new ones that are already catered for extremely well in other franchises.
I understand where you're coming from, it would be nice to have some of the old options/systems back. I end up thinking "Man, why did they take ____ out?" on more and more new games..
Best battlefield example: Jets
Lol, if that's the 'best' thing missing from previous games... good riddance. Jets were retarded.
Been playing BF: BC2 on PC for just under a week now and I fucking love it. It brought me right back to how I felt about the BF series before 2142 (hated that one).
Anyway, I've found it really hard to keep my K/D above 1 in this game ... I figured I'd have an easier time of it once I got some unlocks and got acclimated to the game, but so far, I've not been improving much. I play all classes and have most unlocks for all of them, but I just can't seem to kill more people than kill me.
Oh, and I'm fucking terrible at flying choppers, but I only started attempting that yesterday.
Couple questions:
1) Tips to improve? I've always been above average at FPS games, this one should be no different;
2) What the fuck @ UAV controls ... UAV seems to share most of its controls with choppers but I noticed one inconsistancy. I have a PS3-style controller with dual analog sticks. I have one of them configured to ascend/descend and roll, while the other is configured to control pitch and yaw. But with the UAV, one controls ascend/descend and yaw, while the other controls pitch and roll. Is this fixable?
(Before someone tells me to use kb/mouse to improve my game, I do. The controller is only for Helicopter/UAV and Street Fighter IV ;x )
Use all of the game mechanics to your advantage. Spam ammo boxes, med boxes, defibs, repair vehicles, blow up vehicles, and especially spam motion mines. You aren't so much a killing solider in this game as you are a teammate/squadmate.
12 gauge semi-auto SAIGA is a better sniping gun than any of the sniper rifles, except for 12xzoom scope barret on long range maps (my opinion). The reason? There is no gravity on shotguns. Same with any gun using red-dot and 4x scope.
Obvious, but don't camp in non-hardcore modes unless you have good sight on how any enemy can come get you because of the kill-cam. Especially as a sniper... move around.
Lastly, for me, nothing improved my skills in this game more than Squad Rush. It is a largely underrated game type that can change pace on the time like hockey. I've found that in the other game types, the team winning in the first 2 minuets will typically win the game.
