My favorite thing to do in the beta: We push the defenders back to the Harbor. Cut the gate along the pipes, and drop down to the beach level (you would be shocked at just how many people just don't look down there). Swim out onto their peir a bit and climb up one of the ladders. Ninja my way beside the helo-pad in the bushes and stay fairly quiet. Chopper spawns, hop in, Teammate suicides/spawns in, rape face. Don't have to worry about the UAV, which just destroys the Apache, and infinite spawns for the defenders. Easily a 5~7k xp performance before reward bonuses.

i love is to push the attackers to their original spawn point with like, 3~4 snipers 1 medic and 1~2 enginner and snipe them while still in the parachuts (sp)

An honest question:

Is there any form of cover mechanics in this game? I've just got my PC back after some serious overhauling, and have yet to purchase Modern Warefare 2. I loved the first one, but I've been having a ton of fun lately playing GoW 2 and have grown to love the cover mechanics.

I'm not a fan of just having a crouch and prone stance, so I was wondering if this game has any kind of method to brush up against cover and fire from there? That'd go a long way toward getting me to purchase one or the other, because I'm on the fence right now.

Celeras, what kinda rig you working with ? I know PC version is superior graphically, but how does it hold up ?

The best that money could buy, back in '05 ;p [email protected]/8800gt, it holds up fine. 1920x1200(Medium settings) and lowest possible AA obviously, but rarely drops below 40fps. On high (especially shadows) and 16AA i got single digits.

Not trolling here, how in the hell are you supposed to enjoy multiplayer with five friends? When there were four of us, the squad deathmatch mode was a lot of fun. But whenever a fifth friend logged on (which happened twice) everything went to hell and either the matchmaking/lobby system is a total joke, or the people controlling our squads couldn't figure it out.

We couldn't make a five man squad so we made two squads, of three and two. But we couldn't link our squads together so we had the big squad join a game and wait for the smaller squad to "Join session in progress," except everytime we tried, the smaller squad would be on the wrong team. Awesome.

And don't get me started on this super awesome VIP code that comes with purchase. I'm the only one in my group of friends who is cheap and decided to rent the game instead of purchasing it. God forbid I actually be able to try the product before I invest $60 in it. I understood that I was missing out on maps, or gametypes, or something... but what I found is that every other map I played with my friends, I would get booted from the server for not "being a VIP."

Last week Qal posted an analogy to the DLC/special edition stuff comparing it to directer's cut DVD's, saying that people shouldn't get pissed about paying extra for extra content because it is EXTRA content and does not change the fact that you got a full game (or movie) with the original product. Last night, several times during the "movie" I was asked to leave the theater because I was not allowed to view the upcoming scene. I had to wait in the lobby and have a friend come and get me when that super special scene was over.

Total bullshit, and it really just made me want to return the game and be done with it.

You'll have to excuse the rant, but I wanted to enjoy the game and last night was just one frustration after the next.

I shouldn't be able to enjoy an online game that I rent? That sure makes sense! As I said, I wanted to see how fun the game was (compared to MW2) before purchasing. Basically, I feel like last night was the game's first chance to impress me and so far, the lack of decent lobby/matchmaking has left me unimpressed.

I agree with you totally on the VIP thing though... they're trying to draw in the crowd that's pissed at MW2 but it's almost like DICE didn't do any better.

I'm playing this on PC so none of this is an issue for me.
