Well, game came in the post today, but I'm somewhat unimpressed.

1) the online isnt working for whatever reason, the game just scans and keeps scanning for games to no avail

2) in single player, the sky keeps glitching up (especially when there's explosions), but i think that's more of a drivers error than anything else

3) you can't run diagonally. it's forward or sideways which is pretty annoying

@1)... maybe I'm missing a patch of something? I was under the impression the game was integrated with steam, but that doesn't seem to be the case?

1) Check your firewall/router to make sure it isn't blocking the ports for it, sometimes the servers go down and you won't get listing as well. The patches are d/l when you first start the game.

2) Most likely a driver problem, since this doesn't happen to me.

3) its only integrated with steam if you buy it on steam(found this out when i bought it from ea for 20 bucks)

Bought BFBC2 (PS3) just for Vietnam expansion today. Looking forward for the Nam action! I used to play BF: Vietnam alot before my FFXI career, good times.

I've been playing Vietnam every chance I get. At first I didn't like going back to iron sights after having red-dot for so long... but getting used to it again.

Lots of fun getting a squad of friends in the huey, repairing in the air and pretty much owning everyone the whole round.

Are Bad Company 2 & Bad Company 2-Vietnam keys linked when they are both purchased at the same time?
My Vietnam key says invalid (and it doesn't have any O's or 0's in it, I'm sure I'm typing it in correctly) but I had just bought the game today. I also bought
BC2 today, but it's the second time I've bought it - I originally bought it through the EA Store but today due to your sale I bought it again to have it on
my Steam account... I can log into the main game perfectly fine with my already-created character/EA account (which I'm assuming is linked to my
original BC2 key) but when I go to enter the addon's key it says invalid. I am wondering if this is because I am mixing an "EA key" & a "Steam key". If so,
is there any way I can link my current EA account (and therefore main email address)/game stats to my new BC2 key?

I feel like I may not have explained that correctly:

1) Originally bought BC2 from EA's store online
2) Played it a bit and therefore had my email address linked to the character I created/original game key
3) Bought BC2 & Vietnam addon today on Steam
4) Can't register Vietnam key in the game, it says invalid or used

and i don't care about my stats, as i haven't played bc2 too much, i just don't really want to have to make a new EA account just to use up the 2 new keys from steam. i'd like to just add vietnam access to my shit. :/

Try without the dashes or logging out/relogging

Edit: Though honestly, no idea if that will work. I bought Vietnam on EA and had BFBC2 on EA so I had no issues.

I just picked this game up on the steam sale and I'm having some trouble.
Haven't tried multiplayer yet, but going through the campaign I'm getting problems with my screen turning completely black or completely white. I can still hear the game sounds and it sounds like it's still taking my inputs but I can't see anything. Happens every 15-30 minutes or so. Has anyone else had or have heard of something like this? Any ideas on what could be the problem? In my search, people were complaining about this back in March/April, but almost all of them said that some patch fixed it for them. As far as I know, patches are automatically taken care of through steam so I don't think that I'm missing anything with that.

I'm running a evga gtx 470 with the latest drivers, windows7 64. I was also having a similar (maybe related, I don't know) problem with FFXIV where the game would go black and give an error that the directx device stopped working on both this card and an ati hd4870. BC2 doesn't give an error message, just wipes the screen.

Hm, go to My Documents / My Games / BFBC2 and open settings.ini, try to change DXLevel to 9

start > control panel > system > advanced > performance settings > make sure "Enable desktop composition" is ticked or

turn on "Adjust for best appearance"

the game apparently wants to turn it off, but if its already off it goes grey screen

Damn completely forgot about this shit.. someone talk it up. BFBC2 was already, by a wide margin, the best online shooter of the past couple years. Is it just more of the same awesome with the new maps, or something else I may be unaware of?
