Dog forums?

I'm hunting for a decent dog forum. I'm finally picking up an 8 week old boxer puppy tomorrow. I've read a couple boxer/generic books I've purchased off amazon but I'm hoping to find a decent forum to post/read on about dogs when random questions come up. If possible I'd prefer forums that don't revolve around teens and their lapdogs but more towards well trained larger breeds. Thanks!

Dude, there is nothing wrong with wanting to be MORE informed about your dog and being a responsible owner.

Just chatting up your vet when you go to get it its shots and such can't hurt, either. Also a possibility they may know of a good place to haunt.

I know it's not a boxer, but you should try to find a community like this one: www.mycorgi.com it's for corgis obviously, but it's a fantastic website and resource! I love it.

Are specific breeds so distinguished that they require individual forums? I have to think that the majority of it is overlap aside from breeders fapping over minute details. It would interesting if not, but I was under the impression that was the case.

Different breeds have vastly different temperaments, have varied health problems, and require different forms of extra maintenance. Coat issues with a dog like a husky are going to be quite different than that of a boxer. Also, there's usually a lot of good info on boxer/great dane/doberman/schnauzer/etc forums if your dogs' ears are cropped that you wouldn't find on a general "I love dogs" forum.
