Okay so sometime yesterday I started having this entire body numbness tingly sensation. It's happened a couple of times before, nothing too serious. Usually goes away in a couple of days. I'm wondering if anyone else here has expereienced anything similar. I've done some looking around, said it could be anything from hypothyroidism (100% sure it's not that) possibility of nerve damage (no idea where that would come from) or tumors? (gulp)

Aside from the likelihood of it being lupus, does anyone know what this might be? Aside from excessive MJ smoking.

Seriously though, go to the doctor, cause it might be as sirius as diabeetus and a bunch of medicinally inclined forum posters, premed students, and med schoolers will have no way of properly diagnosing you in the way that a DOCTOR can.

Yeah I know that forum posters probably don't know, but I just want to see if anyone has experienced something similar. I have a week vacation in about 2 weeks, so I might make some appointments for then.

Depends on your sugar intake, whether you are obese/active or not, and how stressful your lifestyle is.

Can't really tell you anything from just symptoms since just about anything can cause them.

I mean are you overweight/eat unhealthy/have history of diabeetus in the family? Cause honestly I have experienced the same shit to what you described when I was fat and thats what the doc told me.

I could benefit from losing another 20 lbs or so. I am 6'3 and about 220 ish. I have a big frame, so anything under 200 and I'd look pretty unhealthy. Maybe 190 tops. I do have a bit of a belly I could benefit from losing. Diabeetus, as far as I know doesn't run in my moms side of the family. I haven't had any contact with my dads side of the family since I was about 2 when he died. We severed all ties with them. I'm a civil servant, rarely stressed out, and get to the gym 3-4 times a week.

I was doing very well on a diet/exercise routine where I lost about 30 lbs, but got a really bad chest cold and cough and as a result was out of the gym for 6 or 7 weeks. That's finally gone, but now I lost the flow I was in. I seriously need to get back in it. Still though, I'm not completely inactive. When I go, I do about 50 mins of cardio paired with some weights. As I said, usually 3 or 4 times a week. I guess getting back on the diet would help a lot.

Well I think this was the obvious choice from the beginning. Should I just go see my normal family practice doctor? Or go to some kind of specialist?

Go to an internist (its kind of a family practice doctor that only sees adults) or to a family practice first. They will be able to tell you if you need to go to a specialist and what kind.

This and I thoroughly enjoy some of the answers people give, it makes me laugh.

Other than that, I'm feeling a lot more normal now. I was lifting a bunch of heavy boxes back and forth in the office runnin around like crazy and ciruclation seems to be going now. Feel tons better. I'll still look into in a couple weeks when I go on vacation, just might be a case of poor circulation.
