    Basically the higher in the list the more important that action is. If someone is dead and someone has under 70% HP, they'd use a Phoenix Down before curing the person. There's an absolute fuckton of target options and actions, basically for any sort of situation you want. With it you can set up a character to keep your party buffed full time, cure you whenever you drop below a certain amount of HP, etc.

    If you want to be lazy you can pretty much roll with a an obvious setup and be able to ignore controlling your other party members (or the entire party if you don't want to do shit) for everything but bosses. For those you usually have to put a bit more strategy in to it. But it's very possible even then to set up the right gambits and let the game control everyone for those too. Of course you have to know exactly what to expect in advance.

    And yes, you have to buy different gambit targets (shit like Ally: HP <70%).
    Sounds like the customazation is very deep. I might actually be interested in playing it now. Although, I am so use to hacking and slashing (AKA: Immediate button response) in Tales that it might feel a bit funny. (Or maybe FFXI V2.0 )

    Gambits are hot. Because I played White Knight Chronicles and controlling your characters in that was shit retarded, because their AI was shit retarded.

    also the story was pretty good, even if the end was a bit rushed. the characters were cool too; stop crying about Vaan just because they took the route of presenting the story from a secondary character's view.     Yes, because it's all to do with the price and nothing to do with the fact you have to keep checking the shops for new ones when that shit should really be available from the get go. Not that it matters, I didn't even use the system because it was more fun to actually play the game myself than rely on the Gambit system for everything.

    the whole point of gradually adding gambits was so you had to learn how2combat right before just making everything automatic. and some gambits wouldn't even be applicable in earlier stages of the game. takes all of 2 minutes to walk across the street from the magic shop to the gambit shop and buy everything in stock.
