I'm not too big a fan of the area versions that you upgrade to on spells. I don't think 3 yards is enough to make it worth it. On your own character they are ok because you can ration your cd's so they are available when the miracle of a bunch of dudes in a pack actually occurs. When it's on another character the times there is a group to mass pull or something they have it on cd and then the opportunity is gone when they can use it again.
