What kind of questions do you have regarding CIC? I obviously have dealt with them and I can tell you they can be just as incompetent as any government agency or as swift and able as they come. Just like it was someone mentioned before, many people struggle to find jobs because their credentials aren't recognized, I know for a fact mine won't but I don't really care as long as I find a job that will help me support myself in Canada.
I was wondering how good they are with communication, if something goes wrong will it add alot of time to my application. And you already answered my other question that they can be quick or slow like any government agency.
I'm hoping my MSCA and CCNP will help with getting a job in Canada does anyone have any advice on IT jobs in Canada at the moment?
How good they are with communication? It really depends on the office you're applying to (I'm assuming you're doing CHC London). My personal case got delayed a good six months cause they returned my application twice thinking that I was applying through Federal path and didn't even bother to check it was through Quebec (Had to write a real nasty letter calling them incompetents and it didn't matter they had admitted to making a mistake through emails by the 2nd return). I've read about quite a few people whose letters/emails get delivered so late that it's barely impossible to comply with their documents request, however, CIC will often accept your documents if you type up a letter explaining you got their request very late. Each CIC experience varies, sometimes it doesn't even depend on you so it's just dumb luck to be honest.
As for IT jobs in Canada, there are plenty, the bigger cities as mentioned here have a huge demand of IT professionals, you don't need to become part of any provincial order to work as IT in Canada which is a huge plus. Moneywise IT jobs are C$60k+ but taxes are around 35% of your salary (obviously goes up depending on your earnings). You file two tax declarations, one to the federal revenue and one to the provincial revenue, and cost of living depends hugely on the place you want to settle on.
You could use this to get an idea of how much money you get left after taxes: http://www.paycheckcity.com/canada/c...alculator.aspx I've heard it's somewhat accurate but I'm sure actual canadians could affirm or dispel it if they posted.
Transportation in Toronto I've heard is quite good. You can pay a monthly pass of C$121 (C$70 in Montreal for example) to go everywhere in town but if you want to include GTA (Mississauga and around) it's expensier, don't know monthly but there's a weekly pass for C$52.
