Jones was done last year, and had the privilege of being carried by the best o-line in football for a whole extra season. If he wanted to stay he shouldve taken the cut to the gaudy bonus he was due this year.

He's certainly still serviceable, but its time for the spark plug to get his shot. Kinda wishing his post season wasn't so boss now, or he wouldve been a killer fantasy surprise for me.

Well in all fairness, unless Shonn Greene can be a full time back, Washington will be limited in his special teams duties and that's where he really excelled imo. I'm not saying he isn't a good back or a big play back, but he can't do it all.

This is what the bears thought back in '06 when the bears traded jones to give Cedric benson his shot. Didn't work out so good.


Bottom line is until he actually breaks down he will keep trying to prove all the haters wrong. So far hes been doing an awesome job at it.

Lance Zierlein of KGOW in Houston reports that the Redskins are "charging hard" after free agent Julius Peppers and that a deal is close.

Zierlein "expects a deal to be done" by Friday. It's worth noting that Zierlein, the son of former Steelers offensive line coach Larry, reported days before it happened that Albert Haynesworth would end up in Washington. So it appears he's got some legit sources inside the organization. We still wouldn't rule out the Bears or Eagles swooping in at the last minute.
