A bit behind on this, but Fox's love for Delhomme is what got us in this mess in the first place. So I think Fox has more say around Carolina way than people realize.

Oh I'm not questioning Fox's influence, I'm just saying guys will talk all day about how they love Joe Schmo and then not even consider drafting them unless they fell 3 extra rounds.

The reason Holmes was so cheap was because he's only playing, at best, 8 games for New York. If he gets in trouble again before then, he may not play a single game for New York. It's his contract year, so there's no assurance the Jets will have him next year.

Ginn has no character problems, won't be suspended for 4 games. If you need a returner and not a starting WR then it makes sense.

I think Ernie Sims is living off of his Madden reputation a little bit. He wasn't in the Lions plans beyond this year anyway.

Yet another former first round pick traded by the lions for peanuts... the guy was a top 10 pick 3 years ago and your defense is horrible - yet you trade him for a backup TE? Thanks Detroit for the two easy wins every year!

Except speed isn't that important in Madden anymore either :/

Maybe in the ps2 versions, or when 360 first came out, but recently pure speedsters don't do much except KR/PR. But you'd have to play Madden to know that.

Edit- Also I think the Sims deal makes perfect sense. There's no way he's staying in Detroit after this year, and he hasn't been much of a star in the few years he has played. Giving Stafford another weapon for the future is a good move and it's not like the 1 year Sims has left will be enough to turn around their awful defense.
