With their lack of WR depth and a franchise QB who won't see the field for a long time, they'll finish safely in third unless Holmgren goes god mode and the Steelers could fall to last place.

Pitt is going to have a top 3 defense this year. I think Mendenhall will be better. The receiving is going to take a step back, no doubt, but they're a good team.

Drafting 17 linebackers does not make your defense better.

Polamalu will be back, but they're going to be facing both the Ravens and Bengals twice who both now have talent at WR and RB.

Philly @ 18/1 is incredibly high.

The good
Atlanta @ 28/1 is a damn good bet.
Pittsburgh @ 20/1 is an unbelievable bet.

The Falcons are a MUCH better team than 28/1 SB odds. Keeping my fan bias out of this as much as possible, the main "ifs" are: Matt Ryan plays like a pro-bowl QB(not a big stretch, coming into his 3rd year), Michael Turner plays like his first year with us(again not a stretch, he is healthy and much better conditioned than he was last year, weighing around 240 compared to 260(!!!) last year), and an improved pass D. The pass D is the biggest question mark. I'm not really worried about our CB's, especially with the addition of Dunta Robinson, but we need double digit sacks from Abraham, Babineaux to continue playing at a high level, and another young DL like Peria Jerry or Lawrence Sidbury to step up.

The point is their "top ten QB" is out for part of the season. They failed to make the post season last year, yet they are supposed to be able to make it there while playing 1/4 of the season with their backup? Sure it's possible, just look at the Jets, but the Jets the Steelers are not.
