Seriously Roy, that's like freaking out that your ace pitcher got lit up in the first spring training game or celebrating that he threw a no-hitter.

That's completely different... When you're kicking you're not facing anyone. It's you and the fucking uprights and that's it. I'd liken it to golf moreso than any other sport I can think of...
You're right. No one can rush the kick, block the field goal, or botch the snap.
Tony Romo would like a word with you.
It's more like celebrating that Vince Carter is getting to the free throw line before you find out that he misses both free throws.
I forgot those have to do with simply being able to make the kick. Rush the kick is it and even then that's nerves which Gadri so kindly pointed out my misstep. Even the best kicker in the NFL is not going to make a botched snap.
Ok, I'm gonna' pull "that," card.
I was a kicker. I played varsity soccer and kicked for the football team during games. Yeah yeah, not pro etc. That's the point.
I only practiced with the team once a week at most (soccer and football season were both in the fall), and even then, it was for trick plays and kickoffs. The only time I practiced kicking between the uprights was right before the game. Why? Because it had almost nothing to do with in game situations other than just getting your muscles warmed up.
The point is, after a certain level of athletic ability and practice, nerves are the only thing that matter for a kicker.
Kickers can cause blocked kicks by not getting the ball up high enough.
The whole point is that you have a lot more that goes on during a FG kick during a full speed game than a half-assed OTA or kicking off a tee/simulated snap & hold. Not only that, one practice means nothing. He could go out next practice and miss everything, be solid for a week and fuck up the next, etc.
Oh decent analogy. So you practice free throws. You're doing good in the offseason, and you start making them consistently. That doesn't necessarily translate into 100% during the season, but I would feel much more at ease with this person making clutch free throws than say if Shaq stepped up to the line. Very little changes between practice and game besides nerves. If you can't make them in practice, you probably aren't going to make them in the game, but if you make them in practice consistently you are far better off.
2 pages about kicker practice? I miss kyle orton talk already.
Fucking kickers, how do they work?
I heard the Pats are 18-0 in practice so far this year.
Cold weather Super Bowl baby. I wanna see a blizzard and have all the corporate scumbags that infest it complain.
Also, stop saying NY is getting it when it's in Jersey.

NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
How can you care about the SB when shit like this is going down?
"So there is one concern, and that's the chafing.. 'Cause I don't "exactly wear undergarments."
This is very bad news.. How's he gonna rope calves without a mullet? Think you need a mullet for that kinda thing.
So pretty sure I will be going to a few away games for the Titans this year.
Possibilities are:
Sunday 9/26 @NY Giants
Sunday 10/10 @Dallas
Sunday 10/31 @San Diego
Sunday 11/14 @Miami (Tyche, Welt)
If any of you fools are close and maybe want to meet up let me know. I will more than likely be flying in on Friday afternoon and then leaving Sunday night. Unless I can get off Monday and then I will fly in on Friday/Saturday and then fly out Monday.
