OH MAN It doesnt end!
no but seriously, you really didn't get it until now?![]()
Oh man... I was all about Deangelo Hall. I remember the best play he ever made: DHall was blitzing, QB tried to get rid of it to the RB in the flat, DHall jumped like 4 feet in the air and intercepted it like 3 feet in front of the QB. The play didn't count because of offsides or something but yeah. My other memories are of him getting absolutely torched by TO, and him giving the Panthers like 3 first downs with dumb penalties while barking with Steve Smith on a really important drive. Ahhh... so glad the Jim Mora Jr. days of no discipline are over, or as a fellow drunk Falcons fan's sign would say: "No Mora Knappy coaches."
Yeah those Hall vs Smith match ups were pure gold back in the day. He was suspended like every other week and got pounded with personal fouls for yapping constantly.
Shit was cash.
Why so diva?
Dez Bryant won't carry Roy Williams' pads

NFL rookies are often required to carry veterans' pads as a sort of training camp hazing ritual. But Cowboys rookie Dez Bryant wants no part of it.
Tim MacMahon of ESPNDallas.com reports that Roy Williams gave his pads to Bryant today, and Bryant refused to carry them.
"I'm not doing it," Bryant said. "I feel like I was drafted to play football, not carry another player's pads."
Bryant says this isn't a case of a first-round pick thinking he's above an NFL tradition. Instead, it's about a player who says he won't tolerate being treated badly.
"If I was a free agent, it would still be the same thing," Bryant said. "I just feel like I'm here to play football. I'm here to try to help win a championship, not carry someone's pads. I'm saying that out of no disrespect to [anyone]."
But Williams says Bryant was wrong to refuse his request.
"Everybody has to go through it," Williams said. "I had to go through it. No matter if you're a No. 1 pick or the 7,000th pick, you've still got to do something when you're a rookie. I carried pads. I paid for dinners. I paid for lunches. I did everything I was supposed to do, because I didn't want to be that guy."
Although the Cowboys' decision to draft Bryant was widely viewed as a sign that the team is less than thrilled with Williams' performance, both Bryant and Williams have steadfastly insisted that there's no bad blood between them. That stance of unity between Bryant and Williams lasted through all of two days of training camp.
Have to find something to write an article about when the Cowboys aren't garnering negative attention. I mean if Dez wasn't signed by Training Camp imagine all the outroars of a 5 year holdout for Dez Bryant.
You gotta admit, that's a bitch move. Coming into his rookie season thinking he's above the rules.
Sure, but I wouldn't want to touch some scrub's dirty ass pads and bring them back to the locker room. Some of the suck might rub off on him.
I wouldn't carry Roy Williams pads, not because I'm above carrying pads but...it's Roy fucking Williams. I'd at least ask to carry a good players pads, not some washed up scrub. :\
Yeah, who gives a fuck? This is Roy Williams. Man, I remember thinking "Dude's gonna explode with Tony Homo throwing him the ball" and good god was I wrong. He did better with Kitna.
I heard when Dez handed the pads back to Roy, he dropped em
It's not really Roy that's the story, it could have been Witten, Crayton, whoever. Dude is just bitching out on rookie responsibilities. You think Bradford or Suh will whine about hazing?
My main point is that Roy alludes to the fact that he's stuck up because he's the #1 pick but that doesn't seem to be the case. Honestly I respect Dez a shitload because of all he has gone through and all along he's been doing the right thing and saying the right shit. Is it the NFL rite of passage to have an NFL coach ask if your mother is a prostitute or to have other invasive shit asked? Sure it's an NFL thing period. Not a rookie thing but I doubt Roy had to put up with this shit and now he's getting all hissy fitty when he keeps dropping passes and people keep giving him shit for it.

Longer story...
I don't care if you are in the NFL and make millions, that is fucked up.What would "step two" be?
"We'll find out. Definitely going to find out," Williams said. "I don't know. I've seen guys take people's credit cards and go fill up their cards and wife's cards and everything. There's a lot of dirt that goes on in that locker room."
Also I laffed hard, heady.
I couldn't agree more in this case, 1st round pick or not, if you are a rookie you have to roll with the hazing. Acting like you are above the rules disrespects everybody else in the locker room. I can't wait to see what they do to fuck with him lol.
Hazing in the NFL actually has some use, as all of these guys coming out of college think they are hot shit, they need to be brought back down to earth.
But being brought back down to earth by Roy Williams? A richer version of Braylon "It's a brickhouse" Edwards?
Yeah, it sucks, but that's how it works. Showing up a veteran is a bad idea. If the Cowboys have good leadership, someone will tell him to cut the crap.
