Yeah. Honestly, he owes his career (so far) to Peyton Manning for that horrendous game he had against the Chargers. Outside of that, he's been pretty average..

Discount that game and he had 7 INT's that season.
7 INT's in 15 games is well above average.
Holy shit I I can't believe I needed to say that.
Oh, okay.. so 15 INTs in three years is well above average too? Well 15 in four years, really, but I won't count 2006. He's also not a sure tackler either. Basically if you beat him, it's over, so.. he had a fluke-ish 2007 season, and afterward, he's been shown to be fairly average. I still stick by my statement.
Man coverage and zone coverage really does affect CBs a lot especially with a new DC. Jerry shoulda brought him in over here since Wade knew what made him tick. Guy woulda gotten like 20 Ints this year with the 'Boys. True Talk.
Holy shit, lol. YES.
Name 3 guys with more INT's over the past 3 seasons.
Oh wait nvm you can't.
Yeah, and?
Being a good tackler doesn't preclude being a good CB. There are plenty of good CB's that can't tackle worth a damn and there are plenty of shit CB's who are elite tacklers.
Knocking Cromartie for being a bad tackler is like knocking Brady for not being quick on his feet. With a good defense, your CB's shouldn't be tackling much anyway and with a good line your QB shouldn't be running much either.
Sorry brah but you couldn't be anymore wrong with that statement.
Cromartie's biggest strength is his ability to recover on plays that he's beaten. It's almost the sole reason why he had such a phenomenal breakout season.
90% of his INT's came on plays where the receiver was open and Cromartie relied on his long strides and good ball skills to leap over WR's for highlight reel catches.
Even if you want to call it a "fluke".... How is moving him from a defense he was "average" in to one that his skills are more suited for magically going to make him worse?
Again, INT numbers really don't mean shit for CBs in most cases.
Obviously picks are a good thing, but if they aren't going hand in hand with good coverage it doesn't really matter.
Ross is good because Ints don't make the CB good but Cromartie is good because he has lots of ints... hmmm
Just about any toss or stretch gives your CBs a chance to make a tackle, screens too. Tackling is good mmkay.
I got a name for you Deejay.
Nathan Vasher.
The "Intercepter"
16 INT's during the '04-06' seasons.
INT's are not a good number to judge a CB by at all. It's just about being at the right place at the right time.
Oh and as for Nathan "The interceptor" Vasher? The guy is done couldn't even beat out a rookie when Peanut Tillman went down at the end of the season.
yeah because injuries had nothing to do with him sucking at all
Tnew tackles and forces fumbles, that makes him awesome right.
Did you want me to name a guy with more than 15 INTs over the last three season or over a span of any three seasons, back to back to back?
Because if I can list some over the span of any three years, here we go:
Deltha O'Neal 2003-2005 had 15 Total INTs (1, 4, 10)
Rashean Mathis 2004-2006 had 18 Total INTs (5, 5, 10)
Greg Wesley 2003-2005 had 16 Total INTs (6, 4, 6).. and hell, he had 6 in 2002. I don't even REMEMBER Greg Wesley.
Point is.. INTs really don't make a break a player. Look at Jason David. He had 10 over 2006-2008 (for the Colts/Saints) and he was terrible terrible.
