    Is it still to soon?

    Question 4+5 (End-game)
In past interviews, you've often said that if there is enough demand, you will address any problem and try to act upon it. After two years of issues with users camping big NMs being continuously reported (for example with the 3 Kings, Tiamat, Cerberus etc.), is it possible for you to take action?

Most end-game Linkshells avoid camping these monsters because they do not stand a chance against people using third party software or people camping monsters like Tiamat, Cerberus, Khimaira for days (because of their long respawn times), evidently monopolising them.

With more and more End-game Linkshells being formed, this problem keeps on growing and worsening (On Bahamut we often have five to seven Linkshells competing for three hours in Dragons Aery or 3+ Linkshells at Cerberus waiting for him to spawn).
We think that every player should have the opportunity to fight these monsters. Without using third party software or camping twenty-four hours a day, not everyone has that chance. Additionally, these monsters are no longer a challenge to most Linkshells as no one can fear them after fighting them for four years. Can you change the AI to make them more challenging again, especially 3 Kings?

Question 4 (Use of third party tools and the difficulty of fights)
How can everyone get a chance to fight these monsters with the same loot?
Does the Development Team still think that everything is fine in regards to this problem?

Question 5 (Drop rate and Spawn time)
The main problem is the amount of Linkshells camping these days. Three years, ago it was two or three, now it is up to ten Linkshells at a time. Forcing more Linkshells to leave the camps by adjusting the drop rates or lowering the respawn time could help. What do you think?

    Answer: (combined with Question 5)
We understand that there are a number of problems with the aforementioned HNMs. Although the benefits may no longer be relative to the 3-day-spawn time, the dropped items are still powerful and we think it is too early to make changes or adjustments making these are available to everyone.

As a first step, we are working on a larger choice of monsters which the player can challenge, by adding more HNMs and more powerful equipment.

Taken from a old interview with SE.

This was taken sometime early 2008 or even before 08.

Vana fest 2010 and there next MMO are now around the corner... I'm just wondering, does anyone else wonder if it's still to soon for the kings to have changed spawn conditions or increase in drop rate? Do you feel it's just to damn late to expect any changes?

increase drop rates just means the LS's which camp them atm can make more gil selling the drops. it's not too late, but you can fight all these nms in a weaker version in nyzul/einherjar etc kb/faf/khim/cerb/hydra and that lot, already accessible to everyone

Ridill drop from Early Bird Catches the Wyrm and so on would be amusing.

I didnt know Nyzul isle droped ANYTHING from the normal kings found in there respective zones and also didn't know Einherjar gave D rings or pixie earrings for example.

    Cerb/Hydra aren't really kings imo.

World-spawns were great in the game's prime, when everything was fresh and new and drama was rampant. But they should have been replaced with a more up-to-date system in the same update that re-invented Dynamis and Salvage drops.

lol should just lock thread, they aren't going to change the system. They might actually wise up and leave it OUT of 14, but its in XI to stay.

If SE suddenly let you get what you wanted from HNMs, what's to say you won't quit when FFXIV comes out? SE wants you to play both XI and XIV you know.

All they'd have to do, really, is let the remaining exclusive items drop elsewhere in instanced zones and the issue would be half solved.

They aren't going to fix kings at this point.

I said it'd be amusing, not that it has a snowball's chance in hell of ever happening.

You think they'd put a good/useful item into an instanced area?

They already took action about this. See: Einherjar, WoTG HNM's, ZNM, etc.

Being from Ifrit it must have slipped your mind -- some linkshells have competition =P

To comment on the topic at hand, SE creating Einherjar is probably the best/only solution that will ever exist in regards to Rotz kings.

Ein gives a chance at the same abjs to more of a player base than those who still sit in aery 20 hours a week. Less-HNM-engaged shells have just as much of a chance at abjs through Ein as their fellow endgame community.

Those who still camp Rotz kings for a chance at the PHAT LEWT just have more chances to see their precious abjs, especially if they also participate in einherjar. I don't have any math, but I'll make some up and say that Odin drops E.body abj 63.87% more often than nidhogg. (at least that's the way it seems)

I highly doubt you'll ever have another way to obtain a ridill or a dring short of bonanza/relicfest.

Simple solution : whoever claims get instantaneously instanced, like fov NM or annm. Outside helper cannot join the party after the claim. This would force people to choose what to camp, and seriously reduce the need for botting. An alternative solution is that you cannot claim an hnm during the 3 days after your last claim, forcing you to use alternative chars to claim, and this will also limit botting. The best solution would be dragon's Aery remnant though, with a permit to enter and 1/20 drop rates.
