Apparently if you can save up 50m, you can buy a dring for 50m on Midgard!

I don't see whats so unreasonable with HNMs, don't like "wasting" your apparently precious videogame time in one zone for a small chance at getting something you don't think is worth the time but still want? don't do it.
If every player was able to have a shot at a dring/ebody/ridill then the fine trolls of this noble forum would have no one to say such great things to as "you mad".I don't think everyone should be able to beat certain content but I don't get the idea that content shouldn't be accessed by anyone in an online game. It's not a country club; I pay my monthly. I should be able to reasonably try anything I want.
As far as the ZNM v HNM thing, i always found ZNMs to be worse because the drops even at the highest tier aren't that great (compared to the amount of time/effort needed to get there). Most ppl will never fight PW let alone kill him, and as someone said many linkshells struggle with Tier 4s still.
But at the end of the day its obvious we all just need to....
Spoiler: show
You guys are missing the point. If Kirin is so easy and lack of challenge, why the hell do ppl still pop that oversized manticore on regular basis?
ZNM offers decent rewards even without taking PW into consideration. Ppl are simply too lazy to farm zeni and they get jealous when those who actually put in the effort to farm pop items get the drop. ZNMLS is bound to fail unless you have a small group of hardcore members who farm the pop items and share drop with others. Like I said before, the only way to keep a HNMLS running is to make all your members under the constant delusion that they stand a chance at lotting drop if they turn up for events. Never tell them who will get the drop in advance.
You added an item in there that is not uncommon. In 5 years my shell (both under my lead and afterward) has easily cleared 65 ebodies, incidentally that's 65 more ebodies I've "seen" than the number of times I've seen leaping lizzy.
When ridill straight outperformed the rest of the game and when PLDs needed D ring to reach that coveted magic damage reduction to be worth a damn, maybe. Game's progressed far past that point though, I'm gonna feel bad for the mother fucker that manages to get through the life of this game, got o 14, and never had the chance to at least see what the fuss was about.
The metagame of XI has long since obsoleted one of those items, and while the other is still God tier status it doesn't call for the crap involved to see such an item. There is little to no excuse for there to be some servers that have seen around or less than 10 of these things in seven years.
Skewed time vs reward? In my FFXI? Never.
I'm wondering if some of you people even know what the hell you're talking about in regards to ZNM's. Zeni farming is tedious but it's easy as shit, who the fuck would be dumb enough to go after Soulflayers when you can go to sea and do flowers for only ~20 zeni cheaper. And Sarameya can be freaking zerged in 1~ min with a pick-up alliance ffs with a 100% million~ gil drop item for shits and giggles. The other TierIV's aren't that much more difficult with Tyger dropping arguably one of the best TP body pieces in the game.
tl;dr: Suck Less.
need old ??? spawns to repop faster.... sky! D:
fucking Herald's Gaiters... where?
spam znm's buy shit from the botting, monopolizing hnm shell on your server.
That's what the jp's do on phoenix.
I love these threads. No, I hate these threads. What I love is all the people who come in and say "You want to take all the challenge out of the game!" because they want to protect their relic funds.
The only level of challenge left to ground is claiming and that's something that can only be solved with RL $.
No one said ground mobs were hard.
everyone i know the solution to the HNM scene!!!
... Suck Less!
Maybe not explicitly but saying that people want everything to be less "tough" implies that it isn't easy now.
There's no challenge in standing around for 3 hours to see which LS's bot claims first and the NMs certainly aren't tough as long as you have a basic understanding of how they work. The only people who have a problem with changing the system are those who profit from the way it is now.
I forgot who said it before but I can't believe you're baffled that everyone wants to be able to fight every mob or have a chance at getting every item. Final Fantasy has always attracted completionists so it isn't surprising that everyone wants a fair shot when it comes to claiming/fighting ground NMs too.
Personally I don't think it will ever be changed because SE probably feels that they've provided enough alternatives already(whether the players agree or not).
