Didn't see a Gundam topic, and it really warrants one imo so I'm starting this.

First episode of Gundam Unicorn is out and subs are out too. About an hour long and honestly it's pretty tight, UC was always one of my favorites since it has such a long history to it. Kinda sucks the next episode isn't airing till around August. But still, tons of action and lots of referencing to the older UC Gundam shows, especially when I got a faint idea of who Audrey really is.

Graham is back with a fucking Twin Drive Flag, and the new CB suits look pretty awesome(still wondering how the hell Tieria has a body unless he pulled a Ribbons and cloned himself), and they brought Nena Trinity back ffs. Not gonna be able to watch this for around a year waiting on the DVD release + waiting on subs, looks awesome though.

Unicorn:

Animation quality is amazing but I don't like the fact that each episode has such a long break between each other. By the time the 2nd episode is released the 00 movie will be too.

00 movie:
Seems like the 4(5?) lights near Jupiter are finally at Earth. Main antagonist, that is shown, is main problem but I have a feeling that he's the real Ribbon's Almark and the green hair one was just a clone or some stupid shit.

I stopped caring that much about 00 story mid-way through season 2. Show me gundams blowing shit up please. At least that's entertaining.

I think it is, which makes no sense considering Louise obliterated her. Incoming Mwu La Flaga situation from Seed/Destiny. THEY TOOK THE HELMET AWAY IN THE SPECIAL EDITIONNNN.

Are the compilation movies for 00 even complete yet? I'd be pretty mad if she got retconned into surviving since she's a pretty terrible character

I don't think they have. The 3rd SE is still awaiting release iirc.

I hope not.....

I can't say I'm excitited with this movie. There wasnt enough loose end left to make a sequel, and bringing back character like her would be ridiculous ( even if her role was underwhelming in the series).

To be honest we don't even know if it really is her but from her/it's looks it does indeed look like Nena. Could be a sleeper innovator version of her?

I liked Nena and I wanted Setsuna to bang her hard... it's a shame that he's only interested in Gundams.

Nena had potential, but like a lot of characters in season 2, she just failed to have enough going on to develop her. I mean, even her character in season 1 was pretty random. Like I know she was more or less insane, but her killing Louise's family, even though it served a purpose (did it really? would the series have been worse without Saji and Louise?), I felt it was completely out of left field.

Season 2 suffered from one of the big flaws of season 2 of Geass, although not to nearly as drastic an extent -- "way-too-fucking-many-characters" syndrome. They tried to keep too many characters from the first season while adding in a ton of new ones when they should have just been killing people off from the start >.> <.<

It wasn't just out of left field, it was completely, utterly and totally random and was just there to shoehorn Louise and Saji into the conflict. I know their perspective was supposed to be a normal persons view on the war, but it was handled terribly. It would have been much more potent for them to remain out of the fight instead of balls deep inside.

So I liked some gundam shows, but I don't really get to watch them as much as I want, nor am I that familiar with the history.

And one got a nice website I can go to to read up on the universe of it, as well as some gundam series worth watching?

http://mahq.net/ - GREAT site for mecha stuff including gundam. He has written up each episode of gundam and other mecha in full detail.

I would say start with the most recent(00) and just go back and watch: Mobile Suit Gundam 0079, Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket, Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory, Zeta Gundam, Char's counterattack, and the first episode of Gundam Unicorn.

ZZ is horrible so avoid it at all costs. Turn A Gundam is amazing same for Gundam X so don't miss those too.

Gundam F91 movie was ok but would have been much better has a series, way too much to explain.
