I think a lot of people here are failing to fully appreciate the use of the word "addiction." Does anyone know what an actual addiction is, or are we all too busy feeling guilty and strange about the 3 hours a day we spend downloading and looking at porn, and that's what is driving the opinions here rather than logic? People who are addicted to porn use it to the point of it being a destructive force in their lives. They miss work or school, they neglect other social outlets in favor of porn viewing/use, they neglect routine functions (like the kid in the story who couldn't even get it together to stay hydrated through all the fapping), they forgo real sexual contact with others in favor of porn + jerking off, and it becomes the sole most important thing in their entire lives. It's an addiction with the same symptoms as any other addiction. It happens with alcohol, drugs, MMOs, and all sorts of other behaviors that are tools to bring pleasure and/or escape reality.

Heh, I spend maybe 15-20min looking at/looking for porn and I'm done for the rest of the day. Wow, I knew porn addiction can fuck up the mind but I didn't know it was that extreme. Guess I'm glad that I wasn't a "taken" over by it.

This is why I say I don't think most people understand how the term is being used. The kid neglected his own health to the point of becoming apparently very seriously dehydrated because he was so engrossed in his activities. When any kind of activity, hobby, or habit dominates your life to that degree, it's a serious problem.
