How quickly can I get to the Sandy Plains? I need gluebugs(or w/e) which can only be found there... It is the only thing holding me back on armor upgrades. I am not sure if I should upgrade now or just wait until I get there.

EVERYTHING is faster offline. Well maybe not everything but certainly LS & in general... Plains, Tundra, Volcano, etc. Also a quick Resource Points run from time to time for Farm & Treasure boats is a great idea.

Does anyone play with the wiimote? I noticed one of the attacks on the classic controller wasn't there on the wiimote and I wasn't sure how to do it.

Odd, which weapon are you using? I find it really hard ot believe that they would just... NOT have a move in one setup.

As for tips Vade... nothing specific. Spend some time checking out the wiki here, and use it for any info you might want: MH3 Wiki

Try not to get too frustrated when you die... and when you fail missions. Offline is worlds easier than on as it is only set up for soloing. Get used to patterns and maybe try some of the cheaper early weapons to see what feels right. Sword and Shield is junk damage but fast. Greatsword is worlds higher in DMG but slow as hell. Each weapon has its place and really you just have to find the one you are best with.

I know that a downfall of hammer is that it is blunt so you won't be cutting tails... and not sure if the ol' "do max damage then hurl a throwing knife at the tail to sever it" trick still works or not. If i am looking to cut a tail i use Longsword.

But yeah, stockpile everything pretty much, there will be a use for it all eventually with the exception of a few items that really are only FOR selling.

Imo start to play online as soon as possible once you learn how monsters work in this game so you don't die online. Multi player is a bit different than single because the mob isn't just focusing on you.

Well I bought the game and wasn't able to transfer my saves from Dolphin to Wii. I didn't really try hard enough, but was able to catch where where I was.

How does online/friends work? Novice hunter looking for a party. Currently want to get a King's Frill(have no chest armor until I get it, lol). Been aiming for the face, but it hasn't dropped.

It's pretty explainable, just try it out and see! Send them a message then there should be an option to befriend them. You need to tear/break the frill to get it in reward iirc. I'll be on in ~3hours if you wana team up!

it was SnS. The controller had a shield bash move while I only found 3 ways to attack with wiimote.

Apparently you just tilt the wiimote to the right to shield bash.

Just killed this guy for the second time offline today. Almost timed out using Long Sword, but I did manage to get his tail this time. Right now I'm seriously considering just saying "fuck you" to the Barroth armor and getting something else.

I have gotten so used to him by now, offline and on. It just takes time? I use a hammer though, and it is oh so fulfilling to break his 'crown' and the mud as well.

I recently did the 4 Star offline quest where you have kill a Barroth and a Great Jaggi, and it was surprisingly easy. Do the bosses have less HP in double boss missions like that? I am thinking back to the PSP and the Rathian/Rathalos quest... can't remember.

Oddly, I skipped the Barroth armor altogether. Right now I have (if memory serves...):

Weap: LS or Hammer
Alloy Helm (Grinder Gem x 2)
Bnahabra Suit
Gobul Vambraces (Grinder Gem x 2)
Bnahabra Skirt
Alloy Greaves

That gives me:
Razor Sharp
Speed Sharpening
Status Atk Up (nice for the Paralyze)

I will have to check which Amulet I use. I am thinking it depends on if i am using a slotted Hammer or a non-slotted LS... I cannot remember at all right now. I tried to farm up the Poison +1 Amulet (so I can swap in Bnahabra Boots and negate Double Poison) but got about 25 other ones. I will farm up some more tonight maybe.

Super easy and you are guaranteed at least one every time you do the painless 4 Star "Cold Stones" quest offline. Unless you actually use the Auto-Guard Amulet there is no reason not to farm up some others and hope you get lucky. I will get 1-2 in rewards and sometimes Mine one up as well. There are some pretty handy ones.

Honestly right now I don't know what I want to work on. I am only Rank 10 i think, as I have been doing a lot of farming offline (just unlocked Rathalos/Diablos/Barrioth) since it is so quick and easy. May farm a couple Gobuls or Lagias next? Can't decide... I tried you add you last night Kais, but you were 'currently on a quest' every time i tried to send a Friend Request. Do you have Lobby Chat on? I can't see that that would still let in Messages though...

I am more concerned with meeting up with other people. For example Blue Gartr people. Not sure how to do that.

Also King's Fill is very annoying to get.

Bosses have less HP when there are 2 mobs in the quest (that's listed on the quest). ID? I can find people by their ID, just go to search player (+ button > 3rd tab) and type in the ID. Just get full peco armor, it's awesome until lagi armor or barioth armor.

If it's the same as MHFU, they generally have around half their normal health. The only increase in difficulty is if you happen to have both in the same area at once.
