After getting to HR10 last night, I've decided I don't ever want to party with a GS user ever again. They spend more time hitting me into the monsters attacks than they do hitting the damn monster.

Gotta play with me then. Only time I hit anyone is when I have an opportunity to use a fully charged attack and I'm letting it fly no matter who's there or if I'm going for the sword smack to get a stun in when there's nobody with a hammer in the party.. Then again the only people I seem to hit are Sword and Shield Users because they don't have anti-flinch moves (that I'm aware of.)

When I played MHFU, Long Sword users were a lot worse at hitting other people because they'd try to charge their spirit gauge as fast as possible without regard for anyone else but I haven't really played with any here yet so I dunno if it's still like that.

Finally have full Rathalos armor.

Took about 4 hours last night to get all but armor and arms and another 2 hours ,this morning, to get the rest!

For some reason I have horrible Rathian plate luck but for Rathalos I got it easily.

On my first try I got a plate and on my last try I got a plate from his tail. Before that I carved 2 tails from his...broken tail.

5 Star Offline, not too bad to unlock at all.

lol... well I wanted to go to bed after getting my Warrior's Lance(finals mean I won't be playing til next weekend). No matter what. Someone said defeat Lagicrus, I was like "Okay! I am on Lagicrus!" Turns out there are two Lagicrus fights! So after the VERY annoying Giggicocks and Rathian(who was a lot easier once I switched from SnS and upgraded my Hammer) I finally got the Lagicrus rematch. Use hammer, because I thought why not. Was getting my ass kicked until the final 5 minutes when I noticed limping. Then I was like "Fuck you, I am a Pokemon Master" so I caught him. It was 6 fucking AM when I finally got the 5 Firestones. EVIL GAME.

Warrior's Lance straight up murdered a King Ludroth, but maybe it might be because it was in Mega Woods. Too bad the arena weapons look like the first weapons in the game lol. Everyone is going to think I am even more gimper than I am.

Speaking of gimping, I'd like an armor set which allows me to become a juggernaut with my shield up. Some attack+ here there would be good, but I can allow the decorations to cover that. Which set best suits this?

Also, Arena is very cool. Cuts out the grinding and just lets you tear shit up. I would never been able to beat Lagicrus on my first try if I didn't fight him 4 times in Arena.

ALSO, how big of a deal are the Elemental Resist traits? Worth farming up 50 of each the seeds to create five decorations? How many tiers of decorations are there? Currently have access to two for most, but there seems to be only one for Elemental resists(starts at 2).

It weird how lopsided fights with boss monsters can get in this game. Kicked Rathian's ass no problem, owned Lagiacrus in the Moga Forest, but Gigginox is a freaking asshole. Could only handle him with LS and I finished him off with 3 minutes left. I can only hit him once or twice before he decides to take a fucking vacation on the ceiling, or hop back and forth out of my range for 5 minutes. Never doing him offline again.

Although fighting Lagi in the Flooded Forest is a pain in the ass. Once Cha Cha comes back maybe I can pull through on that one.

I don't think i like you so much anymore... I hate this guy. I have killed him 6 times and captured him 5 times today and nothing. Sadly I will want 2 plates. One to finish the set with the Vambraces and then 1 more for Rathling Barrel. At least 3 of the captures were with Bowgun, but once I had full Lagi armor and Thunder LS I switched to that and can at least kill him more quickly if Rathian doesn't show up...

I agree, but I think to each their own set of headache monsters. Lagiacrus is one of my most favorites to fight. After farming about 15 so far offline, he is just too predictable. Leaves his head way open to Slams once you know how to gauge where his head will be when he spins around.

Barrioth I have only done once, and that took some patience. He is just cheap as hell. Uragaan can just suck it. I really hate him. I did bust his Jaw and i did KO him once early in the fight, but I just really hate his moves.

HR 17 right now, and have only Diablos, Agnaktor and Caedeus to fight offline. Anyone know if they made Diablos stupid hard or is he pretty similar to his old self.

Diablos is fairly fucking hard; when he digs underground, he can move under or near you and make you quake. He also has a new move where he lunges from underground and fucks you up. And he can horn-uppercut you twice, Rajang dempsey roll style

Well if it means anything to you I have never seen a lagi horn drop for me.

Dunno why everyone has trouble with Giggi, he's super slow and predictable imo! Hammer works great since you can superpound easily. If you're using the LS, just slice once then do the evade slash (Y+A on Classic Cont) to the direction you want to go. Hell, the evade slash works on everything if you don't want to risk getting hit, especially Lagiacruz underwater

lol that's all I did the other night was curse on skype with my friends that I accidentally used another god damn potion.

I haven't had time to really jump into this a whole lot yet. I've bounced around weapon wise. I keep going back to the SnS. Switch axe was interesting (Somehow I unlocked being able to make it on Online mode, but not offline, which I don't quite get but whatever lol).

I think I'm going to SnS until I unlock the Long Sword. The great sword was the most fun weapon to me, but I'm really having trouble adjusting to the speed and trying to predict enemy moves. Maybe I just need to practice with it more.

Online, felt like I was trying more to be careful of my 2 partners with the GS than I was actually hitting the monster.

Right now I am using Warrior's Lance and it kicks ass. My armor seems to be really outdated so I guess I should "farm" a Lagicrus and Rathian set because monsters like Barioth and Diablos are kicking my ass.

I know a lot of people seem to have trouble with Giggi staying on the ceiling or in his cave for long portions of the fight. I have yet to have this problem. For those that do... are you using your Cha Cha? I only ask because that little crazy person seems to keep mobs interested and not running away. Mine has only ever worn the Fluffy Mask, as I only need him to gather and distract, not so much fight. I will say that while i have very few problems killing Giggi... i have shit luck breaking his face, body or tail. Either i do it and I see no obvious indication, or I am doing something wrong. I am fairly sure i break his face, but don't seem to have much luck breaking his body... so that Fearsome Maw item continues to elude me.

As for Lagi Horns, yup. I always break the face and the chest. The face usually goes first (I do the fight in D. Island) as he is easy to face slam underwater. When he hits land i usually spend a flash bomb or two on him until his chest is broken. Then if I don't feel like finishing i just quit via Subquest. To be honest though, i rarely have done this as I would rather have 8-10 reward items over the 2-3 that you get quitting via sub.

Lagi's little half turn with his arm brush is slow enough and easy enough to anticipate (distance) that I can get a fully charged super pound on his face many times.

Hmm, not sure if it is down to the shoulder buttons themselves in my case, but usually when i try to hurry up and select an item just as I enter a new area, i end up using the item. Seems almost glitchy as I was nowhere near the y button... or maybe that is what you mean? Either way, it sucks.

EDIT: Blademaster Armor wise my progression has gone:

1) Full Qurupeco
2) Alloy Helm / Bnahabra Armor / Gobul Vamrbaces / Bnahabra Skirt / Ally Greaves - Razor Sharp + Sharpener + Status ATK Up + maybe ATK up (s)?
3) Full Barroth
4) Lagiacrus +5 or +6 - With ATK up M or L i can't remember. I use my ATK+4 with Attack+1 gemmed Talisman on everything so far (minus my gathering / egg running sets) so that is another 5 Attack points.

For Gunner I also use Lagi minus the helm, where I am using Alloy Cap until i get one more horn, it is quite nice for Gunners as it gives Normal Shot +, Ele ATK up, and Attack up with Gems.

I have Rathalos made, but no plate so no Arms yet. Rathalos's lack of slots really seems like a downgrade from Lagi to me, but I would still like the set. The Affinity would be nice.

Getting up into quest level 2, some goofy boat visited etc. Got some new armor choices and this Loc Lac shawl looks neat. Going to make the Alloy mail I suppose, too, until I gain access to all this nifty shit you guys are talkin about lol.

Need an altaroth stomach. Couldn't you get that from some random quest early on? Or online mode maybe? Just need 1 of them, I could have sworn I had one or sold one at one point.

Also, Gluehopper beetle for the alloy mail. MH Wiki says only in the desert lands?
