Been practicing lance counter myself, died a bunch of times too... I'm decent with evade+2 but I suck at counter. This is my skill goal later on in MHT!

I figure even if you don't use counter you should always be in a monster's face with lance(or sword/shield... but I don't know maybe that is true for anything but hammer or gun lol?). I am eager to try gigginox again now that I have my lance.

More like Lance being overpowered everywhere. Just changed from Barroth to a Steel/Alloy mix with Guard +2 and Speed Sharpening and Lance lols past everything I fight.

Finished a free roam in Moga Woods earlier tonight where I fought two Great Jaggis, a Royal Ludroth, and two Rathians and cleaned house. I guess this probably means I'm ready to give Rathalos a shot.

Did you fail outright? Didn't even repel it? I have yet to do that even though it is unlocked but from what I read you don't need anything too ridiculous weapon wise to break his horn & beard.

Obviously the first time you will just repel him & then kill him the next fight.

Just attack it's beard until it dies/repel, but get an undertaker or a aganktor lance, they own him if you want a quick fight.

Well I do fine until the final portion of the fight(area 3). I attack the beard constantly and I keep missing the chance to break the horn off every time.

I use the drago thing when it becomes avaliable and the ballista when I can. Do I HAVE to break the horns to win? I felt like I could have won without that but then I looked at the mats for the armor and the horns are needed.

Should I get full lagi armor and use it for the fight because of olympic swimer skill?

    First repel btw

Spoke with an HR28 or something guy last night that had the full Caedeus set. He said it took 3 kills to get everything he needed for the set. That is 6 missions, 3 repels and 3 kills and breaking beard and horn 3 times.

Since damage carries over, if you haven't broken the horn on the repel, you will likely do so on the 2nd attempt when you will probably kill him.

Keep jumping around weapon wise. Any tips you guys can give me for GS and switch axe? Now that I think of it I haven't seen the Switch axe talked about much on here. I'm just having some trouble finding my niche.

Also, way further behind than you guys lol. Can I get some tips on killing that Qurupeco solo? We killed it online with like 3-4 of us but god damn if it wasn't sloppy. Feels like SnS has a harder time maybe reaching the head since he seldom lowers it down.

I loved SnS on MHFU but since the amount of weapons available is toned down, I don't think it's worth it anymore (maybe besides para sword)

I'm not to prominent with GS, but SA is pretty straightforward. Use sword form when you're sure you can get 3 hits off (sword form is actually stronger), and DON'T Axe upswing when around other people. Also, don't forget you can unshethe into sword form by pressing R + Y + A, and you can combo into sword form by pressing R after the forward thrust.

    Imo GS is only worth it if you play solo or have Drawn Crit and/or Fast Charge. The weapon isn't friendly with group ; ;

Peco is pretty straightforward once you have him down (uhh, guess that is true for almost all of these bosses). He likes to hop around a lot but he broadcasts everything well enough. I tend to just stay on his left side (your right). With Hammer or LS I am usually going for a flint or beak break, but he topples pretty easily if you target his legs.

When he clicks his flints together obviously he is getting ready to do his lunge/fire move. Simply strafe around him and he should never ever hit you with it. Be ready after the second for a third lunge or possibly a simple beak attack or a leap backwards. If you are ready you can get a few hits on him depending on which he does after the 2nd fire lunge.

Another good rule for him until you get him down is to try to have Dung Bombs with you at all times during his fights. Before you are really comfortable fighting him... him calling a Rathian in can really throw you. If you have Dung Bombs to toss at him (or the Rathian/Baggi/Royal Ludd) it can help to keep them in different Areas.

Dung is easy to find in Area 8 of the D. Island. Combine that with Bomb Casing (Sap Plant + Iron Ore/Stone) and you have your Dung Bomb.

Just stay on his left (your right) and you are safe most of the time.

I have been lucky to have a few GS users that are more than competent. I can usually tell right away if they are up front with me and my hammer though... that they aren't the brightest in the bunch. If you have a GS... get on that GD tail. Stuns, I got it. At first I felt bad about hitting players when i was going for a Super Pound on the face. Then I realized that if you are gonna drop everything you are doing when a monster is stunned to run up to its face where I am, then you deserve it. =)

Against big mobs, most of the time you only have time for an unsheath attack. Anyone using anything else aside from the charge/combo where appropriate for any other reason is terrible and inconsiderate.

Like I said before, the only people I seem to knock down are SnS users because for some reason they seem to gravitate towards the same targets as me. Also I stay the hell away from hammer users because positioning for them is almost just as important as it is for me and the good ones are my key to getting in a 2 charge combo.

Speaking of which I wish I ran into more hammer players.

Also last but not least, GS is beastly in underwater if you can position yourself well because your swings practically arc 180 degrees.
