Anyway I said that farming is easier in MHT because you can pretty much spam the farm for honey/shrooms/etc while go mining and the mine spot respawns unlike the previous M. Also there are subquest so you can mine > finish sub quest > repeat for ores/bugs/rusted weapons. The easiest way I found to farm for rusted/ancient weapon is to go mine then turn in a wyvern tear for sub quest.

The grind in Monster Hunter Tri so far doesn't seem so bad(though the fact it exists is bad in itself I guess). Stuff like Rathian or Rathalos plates are just stupid, but in most cases the bosses remain interesting for as long it takes to complete a set(assuming you don't waste a lot of time doing runs where you don't break/sever what you need to) or reach a new urgent quest. However I haven't reached the point where you begin to repeat boss battles.

Oh, the timer is kind of pointless for everything but solo-online runs or event quests(which have much shorter timers). Gathering is also pointless(more so than boss fights certainly), but if they made quests where you enter empty handed and had to farm up everything from the ground up and kill the monster in 50 mins that would be a quite interesting(but probably tedious if every quest was like that). Nowadays I like to pick up Herbs on the way to a fight, since it heals those wounds that are not worth a potion.

I made rathalos fell down and paralyze 3 times today with para shot 2 AND made him fall down 3-4 times with clusters/pierce. Didn't get anything good but it was fucking owned.

Just finished a round of Blood Sport... that quest can't be real. I can't really see how its even possible short of a team stocked with high ranked gear armed to the teeth with traps and flash bombs. We broke one of Diablos' horns before we died for the 3rd time.

You sonic bomb horny McAssface just to have jay leno run over and superpound you into the dirt, then when you're dealing with him the other one rages and runs in circles spearing you in the face. And when they're both raged...I'll leave that to the imagination

I finally got what I wanted. It was certainly hard, but with a solid strategy it is certainly quite possible. In fact out of team of four only two both to use lots of items(traps, horns, flash bombs), but then again they were all HR 30-40, probably better gear then I did. I imagine if all of us had been completely dedicated we would have never lost.

A lot of fun. With two people(I imagine four would be awesome) spamming group healing items it becomes much more manageable. I freaking blew all the bombs, drinks, traps, and bombs I had(which kind of made me annoyed at the two guys who used nothing), but on our better runs no one died.

We did lose a few times. That quest can certainly be bullshit lol. I mean one time I died because I got roar'ed by Diablos(who was out of my range), then got tail wiped by Uragaan, then got charged by diablos before I could move(he was raging after all), then which made me dizzy and Uragaan killed me with a jaw bash or whatever it is called. This all happened in the spam of a few seconds! Made me curse out loud! Also it blocking with shield really troublesome since two monsters could flank you. Basically the best strategy is to keep them apart, makes all the difference in the world. Using lots of flashes and this shouldn't be too big of a problem.

(Also I noted that everyone who used items were getting 2-3 tickets per round, while the guy who never used items basically got 4 tickets total out of 6 or so successful runs lol. Not that this theory holds or anything. In the last run I only had 5 bombs and 1 trap left and I still got 3 tickets).

Rq, do rustshards ever turn out to be the X big item in single player mode? Or does that only happen when you mine one online after higher rank?

I've gotten my fair share of them on mining expeditions now and always just gotten X weapon+.

Rustshards can be rusted weapons that can be upgraded to Drg element weapons

Ancient Rustshards are basically the high rank version that creates a better version of the drg element weapons

Haven't gotten to fight him yet. I need to though, he's got upgrade parts for my best weapon. Any details about him you could let me know in advance? Just killed diablos today if he's any comparison. I'll probably be farming Uragaan for at least 4-5 runs.
