Girlfriend and I left off just after training going for mining a single ore last night. Haven't gotten a chance to play today.

Got some questions actually I noticed looking through the thread. You guys said you have to unlock the Long Sword and Axe weapons? That unlocks via quest or game progress?

Also, do you become faster with X weapon you use over time or some other progression? Dicking around I bought a great sword and it was slow as balls, but funny as hell to smash goats with lol. Never played a MH game, the little bit I've played looks pretty engaging though. Pretty eager to hook up with friends for whatever nonsense you can do, I'll post friend code when I go into and get it.

You do quests to progress the game (they're ranked 1 star missions -> 2 star - 3 star). You unlock SA when you hit 3, and LS when you hit 4.

Weapon speed stays the same, you just gotta get better at it. SnS is good for hacking and slashing but it's way weaker. GS requires you to anticipate enemy movements so you know what time to charge a blow. Hammer is pretty much a mobile GS that can stun enemies if you keep knocking their heads, but you can't cut off boss tails (not really a problem if you're not interested in materials).

Online mode is City, offline is village. There you get an "ID"

It took me until G-rank in the portable to get a good evade set. Is it easier to obtain in Tri?

Full qurupeco can give you evade+1, still can't make any evading jews yet.

Got a LS finally, time to start kicking ass for real. So I was playing with twowo last night and broke off Barroth's head piece with a green sharpness War Hammer+ after 20mins of bashing it's head in.

So it's possible if you do use a hammer and just whack the fuck out of the head.

I have Barroth urgent opened if anyone wants to do that this weekend. I have only fought him the once, offline. Was a bit painful but not too bad. Currently have Peco set upgraded a couple times slotted to get me ATK Up (s).

Question (that I think I know the ans. to): If am trying to pass urgent, do I have to "Lead" the quest to get credit for it? So if say two of us had it unlocked... We would each have to lead the quest? So twice?

With the hitboxes fixed, it feels like you're in evade+1 all the time so don't worry to much about it

I am gonna leap to the conclusion that you were referring to me with "Gran"? =P I definitely will be doing this, tonight or tomorrow. Not sure what time I will be home today though.

I will look for you whenever I do get on though. Do the same, and anyone feel free to add Doombear (4Z9847) and just let me know you are from BG. Only have a handful of people on my list so far, and they are all just random people that didn't suck HORRIBLY during pick ups.

I need to go back through the last few pages and write names/codes down. Yay for QuickFox Notes addon for Firefox...

EDIT: LOL just went and bought WiiSpeak too, my favorite 'kid' behind the counter at Gamestop was pretty stoked on this so got his ID as well. Just funny to me, cause normally... I don't do the 'chitchat about games' when i go in there.

No worries Kais! Whenever we both are on, if I have somehow managed to get it done... I will gladly help. I have had somewhat decent luck with the few online groups I have stumbled into.

And good god Royal Ludd is much better in a group. Maybe it is just me but I tried to solo him online and failed badly. I did have pretty weak armor then though.
