Hell I dont give a crap either way. I wont change my stuff regardless, nor do I visit the forums while im at work or school. It's because most of the reasons people are giving are dumb ones. IE, along the lines of what I posted.

The thread should have been an announcment one where it could be seen in all forums anyway.

I agree 100% with everything you said, but this statement comes to the point of this topic.

The issue isn't (or shouldn't be) so much "the right" to check it at work or when family is around. It's whether or not the admins of bg want you to be able to check it at work or when family is around.

The overall argument that this will cause less posters is definitely something I think the admins should figure out whether it is important to them. Regular posters will probably not notice or necessarily care for that type of change (unless they are the ones that will no longer post here). I can't imagine anyone is going to stop posting here unless they can have tits in their avatars. So it comes down to the admins deciding on whether they want to push people away in order to offer more choices to those that stay, or if they should deny some rights in order to prevent the forums from decreasing.

Well, you've got an Admin asking us for our opinion, so yeah, I'd say that whether the admins want us to be able to check it out at work or anywhere else is up in the air right now. Isn't that what the vote is for?

Like I said, if it is obvious that it becomes a major problem, the Admins will do what must be done. I doubt everyone on this board wants to have a Avatar / Sig with blatant boobs and vags and dicks everywhere.

Everyone doesn't like the rules the way they are now, and we all kindly tell them to GTFO if they don't like it. Shouldn't it be the same way if the rules change?

Its easy to say "if you don't like it, GTFO", when you actually like it, but when you're the one that doesn't like something - the guy on the other side of the fence, things get a bit more tense. If this does pass, I'll be interested in seeing who complains about it, especially when the overlying rule here seems to be that if you don't like things they way they are, kindly get the fuck out.

If it doesn't pass, its no big deal - that's what fuck or duck is for, but it'll certainly be interesting to see who the hypocrites are. Everyone can make up a good reason for why something should or shouldn't change, and all of them should be responded to in the same way - the way it's always been on BG - "if you don't like it, GTFO."


I don't really care, and yeah, no free speech and all that, but if there's no free speech, and whatever you can say is left up to the whims of the Admin (which is fine), then it is also fine if the Admin rules that tits are A-OK in sigs. By your logic, you'd sass someone who was sassing the admins about free speech, so you wouldn't be allowed to sass someone who was complaining about too many titties on BG.

You can't have it both ways. If there's no freedom, then there's no freedom to complain once the rules are changed, if they are. Again, I could care less, but if rules are going to be enforced when its convenient for you to agree with them, then they still must be enforced when it isn't for you.

Gotta love the high and mighty saying that they do work while at work. Newsflash, so do the rest of us, just sometimes there is this thing called down time. You might have heard of it.

I can't remember a single day at my current job where I've worked continuously from the time I showed up until the time I went home (not counting lunch and official breaks, since they're required to give me those), even on a really busy day. Sorry if that means I have time to browse BG for a few minutes. There are worse things I could do on company time.

Do you have any logical argument, or should we just take your word that our reasons are dumb? The only intelligent arguments I've seen posted supporting NSFW in images have been from Sath and Alleya (sp?). Everyone else posting for that side has just spewed bullshit, mostly.

There is so little logic in this, I don't understand how people can seriously post it. It's not a logical argument in either way, it's a logical argument against bitching, and that is all. Sadly, there is a debate (or a bitchfest) where both sides are bitching. If anything, this should be an argument to keep the status quo.

I said global would be fine, but the site was built on FFXI, and FFXI built the site. FFXI is the target demo of the site, and afaik, receives the most traffic. If it was going to go into 1 section, it should have been FFXI, not general. Sono moved it, albeit too late imo. I think the fact that the vote is pretty much even exemplifies that.
