NSFW Sigs and Avatars

I skimmed this thread (I voted no, I browse from work), but would just like to add that if this goes through, please give a day or two warning (on a work day preferably, I don't always browse during the weekend as diligently as I do during the workweek) before it goes into effect so I can disable avatars/.sigs.

Would really rather not have NSFW sigs/avatars. Some people have entertaining ones, don't want to have to turn it all off to browse from work.

It's been said before, that the bottom line is we *will* lose some of our user base if NSFW sigs are enabled. There's really no consequence if things are left as-is.

I like my porn as much as the next guy, and don't even have work-related concerns or live with folks who would disapprove - but I don't need or want tits on my screen every second of every day and would really like it if I didn't have to limit my experience of this site to do so. Some people have some fantastic sigs that crack me up, it'd be a shame to part with those.

Not all of us are busy for 8 straight hours a day at work. Sometimes we have free time/downtime where it is acceptable to browse the internet, as long as it doesnt cause a problem interfering with our work. That being said, I like looking at the dorp thread etc so I wouldnt want to block all pictures. I can block sigs and avatars but when I am at home I like looking at them because of the reasons said a million times (funny, easily identifiable people, etc) it is an annoyance to keep swapping back and forth, hitting checkboxes etc.

Why alienate a huge group of users that DO browse from work?
Wanna see porn? Lots of websites out there to check them out.

If people are arguing for free speech blah blah go for it. Its not a matter of blocking free speech, its a matter of being courteous to your fellow board-browsers. Is it illegal to wear a shirt that says "Fuck your mother" in a public place? No.
Do normal people (read: not assholes/douchebags) wear it? Most likely not, its in respect for people who might have children, or just dont want to see it in public.

You wanna ask if my life is so sad that I have freetime at work and dont want to go eat lunch with the group of 250 pound 50 year old women predominantly work with? Well is your life so sad you need to argue vehemently because you want to see porn on an video game related website?

In all fairness, sleekmotorwurkz is the all-time champion title holder for "worst poster in the history of BG"

He's had the title for like 2 years now, I don't see why anyone is surprised at all that he is making yet another horrible post.
