NSFW Sigs and Avatars

Well said, Tyche, but I don't see BG ever getting interviews simply because of the nonchalant way of looking at 3rd Part Software that SE has been so rigid against. That one guy got banned in media for showing a bot in a SS that was linked to a botting site, but afaik, the whole media section would be in violation of SE's terms because I don't think they ever wanted anybody to be able to take pictures (even after official windower). Nobody gets banned for using the tool that makes you get the GM tag, windower's standard plug ins, etc. So unless BG goes like alla or other SE sanctioned sites, I doubt we'll get useful interviews first.

Well, the choices were posted in sort of a joking manner, so some people may not have taken it seriously. Or some people just don't care either way, in which case they may as well vote "tits".

Also, people who are against it are expected to be more vocal about it in a situation like this.

They've gotten them before. Hell, didn't Sundi or some other SE rep rock a BG hat at a press conference?

Hold yourself to a high standard BG, I think this is silly.

Oh I didn't know BG did, all I know of is Berticus and his interviews getting plastered over here. I remember the BG hat, but I thought it was more of Sundi going "I know, lol, I just like trollin you guys."

The way I see it, no one is going to not browse BG because they're not allowed to put nudies in their avatars or sigs.

On the other hand, a LOT of people won't be browsing BG at work or at school if it is allowed.

By allowing people to do it, there will certainly be less people on the forum at any given time and I can't imagine you'd want that at all.

Quoting this for emphasis why alienate a bunch of people? It would really suck if the entire site is NSFW at least now I know where to not go. There is plenty of nsfw stuff on this site but it is easy to avoid.

the biggest problem for me before i just decided to turn it off was actually not whether the sig/avatar was NSFW, but those animated movie-scene gifs kill my laptop for some reason

Sometimes I'd like to just browse an FFXI site and not look like I'm gearing up to beat off.

Personally, I'd say no myself.

However, if there was a specific option for NSFW specific avatars and sigs (not sure how that'd be done as I don't have knowledge in that field of forum-ery) to be on and off option then sure. Or just keep them spoilered with a warning above (which would result in leaving avatars to be safe though).

Just my two cents as I often lurk while at school as I am sure others do and at work. NSFW was already dodgable thanks to tags.

I really never understood the "NSFW" deal personally, since browsing a website that isn't conducive to your work is probably not allowed in the first place. But I'm still a student so take that comment with a grain of salt.

But I did vote for GTFO because the way it works now with NSFW tags on threads is perfectly fine. Everyone, including people that aren't at work want to know when there are tits showing on their screen, so relegating those images to NSFW tagged threads helps.
