Wow. Late push for tits. Oh well.
Tits!
GTFO!
Wow. Late push for tits. Oh well.
Given the closeness of the poll results, can we not just hold off the tits crap until a forum solution for nsfw-avatars is built-in for when you do upgrade the boards?
It don't matter if you win by an inch or a mile. Winning's winning. Etcetera etcetera etcetera...
er, so the clear cut decision to radically change the way avatars/.sigs work for the majority of the boards here is decided by ... ~1%?
Shouldn't the very fact that the vote has been this close make it clear to all that a decision that will result in ~50% of the user base unable to use a function (avatars/.sigs) is incorrect? Certainly from a utilitarian perspective that has to be clear.
Either way I won't lose sleep not being able to see the often hilarious, sometimes beautiful, sometimes stupid, pictures that accompany people's posts. However this poll has, in my opinion, already proved its point -- it would be a problem for many (if not most) to change the status quo.
While I really don't care either way, BG is blocked at my job as is, if you're going to disregard a poll because of it "being close" why bother having the poll? All you're accomplishing in this instance is setting up precedence to toss out future polls to which the winning option wasn't in a certain individuals favor.
That sucks that it's blocked already, I used to use proxies to view it and other websites at my old bank job.
Looking at the original post I read that there was a call to make a change, and so the vote was made. I don't see that as necessitating action based on the poll results, I see that as an exploratory poll to investigate people's opinions on the matter.
As I said above, in my opinion it would be a misunderstanding of this poll to look at the results and say, "Ok, based upon the results of those 20 people out of 1000, we're now changing the way the website works."
On the other hand, if there had been a clear cut majority (say, 75% or more) I'd say sure, make that change.
Maybe this is just me though, as I've tried to be clear about, this would obviously impact me. I am biased but trying to act impartial to the best of my ability.
It's already been mentioned a few times (by Sono) that the closeness of the poll means nothing is going to change even if tits wins.
So it's not that you genuinely pissed by the idea, but rather that you wooshed by the entire proposal? Great stuff.
Btw
Spoiler: show
"Tits" voters are the republicans of BG.
I've never seen someone take a woosh so badly; it's almost sad.

do you not understand the concept of an opinion poll?
BG is not a democracy, this is not a vote. The poll was to see if there was any INTEREST in a change being made. Since the results are inconclusive with almost as many opposed to the idea as in favor of it, enacting a change would be retarded.
You guys are fucking morons. Who is saying this decision will be made on simple majority vote? There's around 1 million voting rules, and for most important policy-changing decisions you typically need >66.67%.
Can we pass it through budget reconciliation?
Wow guy I just owned your not shutting the fuck up and your terribad attempts at not wooshing combo-style and you're still not shutting the fuck up. Help me help you.
