I hated this fight so bad, took me 2 tries on easy mode.

exception maybe. In one level the ONLY way to continue was threw a pad(the minigame where you have to click circuits in numerical order). If you don't have sabotage leveled you simply cannot pass it. It is too hard to accomplish normally and you need at least one rank to use an EMP grenade to open it. So I do not see any other way to progress outside putting at least one rank in Sabotage. If someone can correct me, please go right ahead.

Hacking PCs is a straight-up mess. More luck based than anything else. The worst part is that for some reason they mapped the "right" code to the mouse. It controls VERY poorly and is an exercise in frustration just moving it. Bad enough you usually have to be quick about it. You fated to fuck a few times because you mouse simply can't move the row of numbers correctly. It is important to realize that "Abort" doesn't get you detected. Hadn't realized this and caused me to waste about an hour and a half doing a rather simple "CIA" mission lol.

This again! should've just put it on the arrow keys. my desk wasn't big enough for some of the lockpicking ones, so I had mouse sensitivity pretty high set, and still had to move the mouse back and forth, then lift, furiously!

As to the people who have given some honest reviews, I appreciate it whether good or bad. I've already forwarded some of the comments to some guys at the office.

I hope you guys don't pirate my game, and give it a shot. It's a lot of fun, albeit flawed, and if you like RPG's you should get a lot of enjoyment out of it.

nitsuj simply don't listen to these bitches lol. Alpha Protocol is by no means a great game, but it is good enough and unique enough to be a worthwhile one. If someone can't recognize that from looking at it then their only briefly glancing over it(and want to skip right into calling people retards and inept, the fun part).

I too would like DLC, but unless you are operating on the budget of bioware(i.e. can afford for the voice actors return) it probably won't be worth it. I want DLC so I can explore my contacts more. A sequel with more "middles"(and more endings dependent on those "middles"), better low-level shooting, improved AI, and even more effort put into the intel/perks/skill/etc system would be for the best. AP probably has been deemed a critical failure, but I wonder if it is a financial one.

You are either full of shit or just doing something VERY wrong. I didn't have to reach full ranks for my pistol to be an efficient killer. If this isn't a complete ass-pull your problem could have been: 1) shooting too fast and not considering recoil, 2) didn't line up your shot on the target(though at five feet you would hardly need to), 3) didn't properly upgrade your gun so it amplified the previous problems. I am more willing to believe you are bullshitting it up. But at least I used this to describe how to use the pistol efficiently.

You are just being inflammatory. If were really bothered by it you would be breaking down his reasons to show why he was wrong. Really who gives a shit if he defends the hell out of a game? At least it is in his best interests, he isn't some militant fanboy.

Man, you guys seem to have had way more problems/bugs with this game than I had, maybe I lucked out.

There's a lot that could have been done better but it's by no means a bad game. At worst I'd say it's average.

Far as weapons/bosses I pistol'd pretty much the whole game and found the bullet-time dealie ability to be ridiculous against bosses and I didn't change my pistol until the last mission. Bosses lasted 2-3 uses max if you wait for the Crit-Ability to kick in before you place 5 rounds in their face and it's stupid easy to clear rooms of fodder with.

I did have some issues with the pistols not being as effective at longer ranges due to the large reticule, but then again you wouldn't snipe shit with a pistol IRL plus you can always take a rifle for long-range shit.

As far as the niggling PC controls go I suppose going with the 360 pad was the right choice. Multi-Patform games always tend to have batshit PC configurations.

I did ask him to tell me what he thought the game's flaws were, to get what I hoped would be relatively honest criticism of the game from a developer himself, but he couldn't even manage that. I completely understand why he wants to defend the game, but trying to downplay the smell of your own poop is kinda a major turn off for me.

And yea, of course I was being inflammatory, but I still plan on spending money for the game eventually, especially after reading your thoughts on it. I guess the game doing somewhat poorly in reviews works well for them financially, since there are probably a lot more people who would pick it up for 30 bucks like myself, rather than pay full price.

The "evil" endings in this game are pretty good lol. Morality system isn't stupid or patronizing in this game, to say the least.

Agreed BRP. I liked that they always seemed to have extra dialogue for most of the characters after their main mission. But they dropped the ball with Brayko. I was really expecting some more interaction with him later in the game. I'm in the process of playing through as an absolute fucker right now. It's relatively amusing.
