    Windows Default Auto Arrange Files

Okay, this is a pretty small issue, but I just can't seem to find how to get the results I want and I can't seem to hit upon the right Google search terms for this problem.

My windows XP had always automatically arranged files. Then several months ago I restored my PC and it defaulted to not arranging files. So now when a bunch of files are dragged to a new folder it makes a messy blob of icons. How can I make the universal default for all my folders auto arrange again? It's gotta be simple enough I know but the usual things aren't helping. It's driving me crazy and wasting my time. Thanks.

Edit: To be perfectly clear I know you can right click while in a folder to choose auto arrange. But I'd like it to auto arrange by default without specifying individual folders.

Go to a folder that doesn't have Auto-arrange turned on and then turn it on with the Right-click menu. Go to Tools > Folder Options > View > Apply to All Folders. Now all folders will have it turned on.

There might be another way that doesn't change the view options for all folders but this is the only way I know.

Ugh, my gawd. I think somehow I was glazing over the big "apply to all folders" option. I had this mindset that was so decided upon the solution being something buried deep somewhere I didn't notice it. Thanks a lot.
