Female Egg Donation

So my wife is currently filling out a questionnaire for a site called EliteDonors.com and I was wondering how legit this whole process is? Has anyone here had any personal experience with it, or knows of a friend/sister/wife who has gone through it? Some of it seems too good to be true.

If you don't have anything to add perhaps you can help me find if there are any legit sites out there, and which scams to stay away from. Thanks.

My wife looked into it. There are very serious health risks involved and it is very bad for the donor. That is why they typically get paid so much. At least that is how it was when she looked. I would seriously recommend looking at all the risks involved.

I like how they call it egg "donation". I don't remember getting paid several thousand dollars the last time I donated something.

More serious response, do as much research as possible on the procedure itself, and try to do as little of the whole process online as possible. Find reputable fertility plants in your area, and talk to the people there. I'm certainly no expert, and I don't know anyone that has gone through the process, but after 10+ years of listening to Loveline, I've never heard someone call about this without Dr. Drew mentioning there being a risk to the egg donor's fertility. Like I said, I'm not an expert, but your wife is going to want to find out as much about that as possible if the two of you ever plan on having kids.

Just to add, we already have two kids (girls) and are looking into doing selective gender in vitro for a boy. So I was hoping they could just take out extra eggs while trying for our own.

found that on google since your question piqued my curiosity. seems like an excellent site, very reliable, and they're not an actual donor program so they have no incentive to lie and make it sound safer than it is.

My roommate's gf is actually going through the process of donating now. I haven't had a chance to speak to her, but he has spoken about it to me. He says that she has had to administer hormone shots to herself, and that they make her feel a bit strange and moody. She is going to school to be a nurse, so I'm not sure if this is the reason she can give herself shots, or if they expect all the donors to do so or what.

That's mostly what creeps me out about it, otherwise I'd be all over it myself. I don't think I could give myself shots lol.

Details about these applicants will be used in the broker's advertising or on its Web site to attract recipients. My friend did this and without knowing the risks, her harvest encountered a complication which they lost the egg they were trying to get and she didn't get any money from the procedure.

I've thought about it myself, though I'm not quite old enough to yet. Not for money, but because of the fertility problems many women in my family have had, due to having chemo or just genetic issues. It's a very uncomfortable thing to do, and in the end, those children produced by the eggs are genetically yours, so it takes a lot of emotional commitment. I donate blood often, I'll be donating my hair in another month or so, and something like that would be the biggest gift I could give someone.

I know a chick who did this and was paid 7k. Her eggs ended up not being good or something but she was still paid. $7,000 seems to be the average price around here from ads I've seen & from talking with her about it.

I considered it, but then decided I'm not poor so there's no reason I should be putting all this hormone crap into my body. The whole procedure is a pain in the ass. With all the risks, I wouldn't suggest doing this sorta thing unless you're poor as fuck.

Well if I were a chick and poor, I would never go through this shit. The detrimental physical and mental repercussions are not worth it. I'd prolly do some dumpster-diving first.
