There wasn't even a PLD willing to go, and no whm. How do you think it's gonna turn out?

Honestly if there's a way to do it with another setup, I'm all for it.
Probably helps if you list the jobs you can get hold of. You will definitely need a competent tank party who are familiar with Ouryu TP moves and know how to handle wyrm fight.

Do you have access to RNG? Try arrowburn Ouryu. It won't be pretty because the earth based blast attack has 30' range and your RNGs are going to need a lot of healing. Basically do it as if you are manaburning Ouryu, obviously you won't be able to sleep Ouryu and you still need to find a way to control the adds.

If you can find 5-6 BLUs, try the method I have mentioned in my previous post. Get them to sub THF and use a BST or DRG as SATA partner. I don't play the job but I got to admit SATA Cannonball/Vertical Cleave is one of the most underused strategy in this game. Most people do not have the gut to test it on HNM for obvious reason. I think it's worth trying in your case. (assuming you are still talking about Ouryu v2)

People don't have the gut to use is not the same as people aren't stupid enough to force a spike flail when there are ample other options for doing catastrophic amounts of damage.

Do you even know what why only BST and DRG should be the SATA partner in this case?

I can understand ppl don't know shit about BST, but come on, don't tell me you only heard of Angon and Call Wyvern.

We get it, SATA onto the bst, then snarl it onto the pet. Spike Flail is practically fucking instant, between NA->JP latency, you'll have to practically pre-snarl in hopes of guaranteeing no flail.

    SAM uses Tachi:Gekko
    Ouryu readies Spike Flail
    Ouryu takes 1000 damage
    Alliance wipes

Honestly I expect ppl like you to know it better.
Every time Ouryu lands she uses touch down which reset her TP to zero (this should be true unless someone can prove me wrong). It's impossible to trigger Spike Flail unless wyrm has 100TP.
Snarl has 30 sec cooldown, and BLU spell feeds 10TP per hit connected to enemy. If you want to 100% safe, get 5 of your BLU/THF to sata on BST, then transfer hate to your jugpet. You just create a back up tank who has the hate equivalen to 5 BLU/THF combined. As long as you park your pet on Ouryu's front foot there is no way BST will trigger spike flail. Repeat the process every 30secs and the more hate you transfer the safer it becomes.

well we did 3 pages of telling you this is a stupid idea. You're pretty dead set on it, so why bother posting here asking about it? Good luck with the strat, post results.

It's not even a complicated concept, but it's impossible to get narrow minded ppl like you to try (or even understand) it. If other LS are happy with manaburn I don't think they should change their strategy. How many of you who view this thread know what Snarl actually does? It's a huge undertaking to educate your BLU/THF how to make the strategy work. I only brough it up in this case because the OP is asking for a different setup.

See above. Do it yourself, post results...I think everything in regards to your strat has been covered.

The concept is not even new. Many LS have been using melee/THF and DRG to shed hate in JoL fight. BST can do it better, if only ppl actually bother to find out more about the job.

Taruking is an idiot in general, I agree. His setup is retarded, I agree. However, he's right that BLU/THFs using a snarl or DRG for SATA target will not flail shit unless poorly executed. It's far more effort than getting the BLMs though, and not significantly faster.

Again not true, if your BLU can land somewhere along 800-1k SATA Cannonball/Vertical cleave, that's 1.6k-2k damage per cycle. Not many BLMs can keep up with this number consistently. BLU can easily handle adds too. The only downside is you can't sleep ouryu on the ground, it won't be as foolproof as manaburn strategy.

The strategy is not only limited to Ouryu, most HNMs have nasty TP moves if players pull hate from behind, Cerberus, Khimaira, Tiamat etc. Ppl are just too chicken to try it.

Come back when you can beat my LS's 13 min Ouryu with your setup.

I supported your idiotic ass regarding the part you were right about. I can do over 2500 per round on BLM easily, provided it isn't force landed prior. I can do crowd control, cures, and be entirely self-sufficient. I'm not going to get my tank fucking roared. The end.

If every BLM in your LS can do 2.5k damage per round Tiamat will ALWAYS get force landed, unless you are lowmanning it with fewer than 5 BLMs. So don't tell me BLM can easily and consistently do 2.5k damage per round. BLU can be just as self-sufficient as BLM in term of crowd control.

Let's say your BLU/THF is capable of doing 1k SATA spells (which is way more consistent than most BLMs since SATA can't miss). You can practically force Tiamat to take flight every 30 sec with a single BST + 10 BLU/THF by splitting them into 2 groups (for hate control's sake). If you have 2 BSTs, 10 BLU/THF can send Tiamat back to sky as soon as they all finish casting their spells, before Tiamat even gets the chance to use a TP move. (in case you don't know, each single hit BLU spell only feed 10TP, plus they can always equip subtle blow to further lower it).
