Hey if people want to draw me into an intelligent discussion (even if it's about the artistic merits of a singer I dislike and many claim to be irrelevant) and her effects on the American cultural landscape, who am I to say no

I dunno, I mean, I guess I like her more because I didn't appreciate her to begin with, if that makes sense. I really wrote her off with the first two singles, but in an era with fewer and fewer actual singers and musicians in the pop music genre, the fact she has a voice and such is great.

And I'll admit, her over-the-top style is the kind of thing I wish I could get away with. Not all of it, really not big on leotards hehe, but some of it is just so fun.

Madonna was written off when she first came out too - whether or not Gaga rides it out for that kind of longevity obviously remains to be seen. Honestly, I'm not sure she could with just the dance genre style music, but who knows.

No, not really. I have read the books, and I liked the first one fairly well, but on repeat readings and with where she took the series... it ended up being highly predictable and my opinion of the whole thing soured.

DOES SHE SING THE SONG FROM ROBOT UNIROCN ATTACK?

The overplay on the radio hurts in a way, I know with "Just Dance" I was like, meh, a summer dance hit, flash in the pan, etc, and Poker Face never really grabbed me. It was the VMAs honestly that I first heard Paparazzi, outside sorta vaguely knowing the chorus from overhearing radio (I don't really listen to the radio.. NPR or CDs); and then kinda got more intrigued. Paparazzi is an interesting story, and I love the video for it; Bad Romance is just amazing all around, musically, vocally, and the video is crazy amazing - and yeah, i want like, all those shoes and want to wear a golden sequin crustacean outfit too. Speechless, yes, is a great song, and the reason she wrote it is very poignant.

We should meet in RL cause, Just dance WAS meh, I don't like pokerface, The VMAs got me hooked on her and Bad Romance is the bestest song/video/dance ever.
