the news station KHON2 reported that Hawaii is currently under "low tide" and that is normal.

Was supposed to hit Big Island about 40 minutes ago and Oahu 5 mins ago, I'm still waiting. I haven't even seen a big wave on the news yet. This thing is like swine flu, blown out of proportion.

#1, while in deep water Tsumanis are nearly impossible to detect/see, #2 just because times are off doesn't mean that it was blown out of proportion. #3 this is the US media, what do you expect. Better to over react to something like this and nothing to happen than to under react and it kill everyone.

I have it there so people hopefully ignore my posts and agree. It has hypnotic powers, even on women.

I have a friend in New Zealand who told me that the tsunami warning sirens went off but no one knew what they were so they just kept walking around doing what they were doing until they realised/learnt what was going on. He says he's not in much danger in Auckland though, plus he's in an apartment on the 34th floor of a building too.

Would being that high up in a building be safe or would a tsunami take out the supports and topple the building anyways? Depends on what the building is made out of and how? BG architects, heed my call!

It will pass through the lower floors and seek the path of least resistance as water tends to do, if there are doors and windows to go through on both sides of the building it is unlikely that it would dump it's energy into the support structure rather than punching out the weakest spots and moving on.

Depends on how far away he is. If he's in a beachfront Hotel, won't matter much, but if he's far enough away that it'll just get wet... I'm sure he'll be fine.

A 6 foot wave will be something like 100 fucking feet long.

Kinda like being ran over by an olympic swimming pool.

A 6 foot wave displaces a shit ton of water. If it's crashing on the coast it could do some damage. If it crashes in the bay it would be no big deal.
