DaFunk is a shell thats been around ~3-3.5 years, previously led by Eep/Disy, now led by Nappy. They have a decent amount of well geared members. They dont normally wipe to anything, but everyone has their moments. They don't normally steal or MPK, but they hate Legacy (Prestige now) with a passion, and have recently started to express this. Focus: (3 Kings, Tia, Khim, Cerb, SW, Di, all Events)

Legacy started as a mostly EU shell, but is now mostly EU/NA. They started out 4 years ago as a sky shell(?) and worked their way up slowly to HNM. Their current wipe rate is pretty low, it depends mainly on the time of day they claim. Kyas (previously Kyasjon, his name was stolen by a DF member when his acct was hacked) is the biggest moron ive ever had to play with. For about 4 months he used muse teriqua on PLD, for the "obvious" reason. DO steal from DaFunk. Focus: (3 Kings, Tia, Khim, Cerb, SW, Di, all Events)

VanaKnights (TheEndless now) started when an old Excellence member named Daaku ragequit and made his own shell a number of months after leaving then coming back to Hades. They have a core few members with good gear and skill, but due to low numbers they dont show up to all that much. They dont steal or MPK. Focus: (3 Kings)

HuntUpGround (Galka LS or hug for short) was formed by 5-6 Galka. For now they dont claim much at all, and normally only have 6-10 people max. I'm sure they will continue to try kings despite claiming nothing. They don't really MPK, but I wouldn't put it past them as they have tried in the past, but they're too stupid to be successful. Focus: (3 Kings, finding more Galkas)

Zulu is a new HNM shell started by Arklus, hes a nice guy from what I can tell, but hes only been here ~3 months. They haven't claimed any HQ kings, but they've only been at it a short time, so who knows. Focus: (?)

There's also SoC (Soul of Crusades) I think they're still active, JP ls, Kings only.

HUG can kill Fafnir and Nidhogg as evidenced lately, just takes a long time.

I've personally seen all 3 LS (DF, Ex, Prestige/Legacy) steal from the other, both when it goes yellow, and through other less savory means. That said, the HNM scene on Hades is really quite tame. Ex dominates fights, but not claims, and is NA only, Dafunk is strong in all time zones and rarely wipes, Prestige is strong in EU, weak in NA and is the largest wipe risk of the group, especially in NA times as was said.

Ex wins most any footrace in NA time, is the fastest to kill things by far (5 minute Fafs is not an exaggeration, no one else comes close. I've also seen DI claimed and killed between Khimaira windows and they were back and ready to claim), and also owns the server economy (their relic creation rate is as advertised and absurd).

No one kills PW, campaign is terrible (Windy is the worst), Besieged seems about average, we lose astral candy from time to time (I'd say about once every 2 months).

From what I've read so far, I think NA time will be a disaster, EU time less so. If Tajbot fails to compete, I believe Ex is more likely to server xfer than team up with another LS except for the ego issue. I don't think any LS on Hades would resort to MPKing directly in order to make a statement, or try to lay claim to the new combined server. Ex cares about gil and relics, not drama. The other shells don't have enough to gain by trying and/or just aren't strong enough. Ex is the most likely to respond with action, of some kind, when faced with an unacceptable claim rate, esp. if it impacts their bottom line. Whether that's through new tools, server xfers, or MPK, I'm not 100% sure. I'd bet some sort of unbalanced alliance though, if I had to.

I do think, though, with the level cap change and the new races to new HNM, that the Ex of old could re-emerge, and that Ex was capable of anything and everything to establish dominance at end game, and that does include MPK. But that time is long gone in today's world as Ex hasn't had a worthy competitor in years (since Ascendant Sky really, and they were a remnant by TOAU's release).

It's worth mentioning in closing, Ex isn't a gear machine that hides mediocre players that shout how awesome they are. Some of their members are insufferable, but you simply can't point to any member and point out a weakness in playstyle, they don't exist. Also, they're mercifully silent for the most part. Sure there are tweaks and failures, but it is certainly imaginable that it is the best LS in the game for their size. Competing with them is impossible [for those of us on Hades], though they're small enough their bots don't overwhelm the competition, which is nice from a claim rate perspective.

Pretty sure our claim rate will be complete tits on kings, but then again we only have 1 ebody 1 nleg and 1 abody wl'd just so the person can have their king set. All of our aegis have drings (not that many still play ), and all thats left for us is to sell the abjs, which we can do through Ein, so its not a big deal.

Either way, I think the Cerb guys and Hades guys will be able to get a long pretty well these days. How it was 2 years ago it would've been disaster.
There is some great and nice people in all these shells (I dunno HUG though since I dunno which members they have) minus some obvious retards.

The last Fafhogg wipe from an NA linkshell was about 8 months ago back when KoN had a massive recruitment spam and got stuck with all new players at a 5am Nidhogg (cfh + flail lol). I'm fairly certain no one has wiped since then. Tiamat wipes occur during holding all the time. Footraces don't occur anymore because everything is camped with holding pt's 24/7 till pop. If Hades doesn't already camp with holding pt's, I'd imagine them burning out fairly quickly. Nothing really stays unclaimed more then a few seconds from pop.

Depends on time of day for the most part. Dafunk is probably the best at having 24/7 holding parties, Prestige 2nd best, and Ex a distant 3rd. Rather than extensive holding parties Ex gets by with a member + mule strategy for the most part, combined with sharp execution (quick use of Nexus cape for example at Tiamat) and telephone chains to get a kill group there.

Dafunk as mentioned has the strongest presence across the timezones, and Prestige has Kyasjon, who for all the vitriol is one of those crazy I'll camp it solo! type of people which has resulted in many a late night spectacle (good and bad). He's also ... outspoken in say, let's put it that way. Ex has a lot of geared mules available as Rdm for their holds, plus every Paladin is geared enough to survive long enough to get the group there.

edit: Regarding last wipe I have no idea, Prestige + HUG wiped to KV the other day but kept claim and then killed at like 3am, that was fun. DF claimed darters the other day during Faf and wiped with their hold PT, I guess that was fun (they didn't claim Faf). HUG (I think it was HUG) got Faf or Nid down to ~10% and got Darters and killed but then wiped right after last week. As I said, Prestige is definitely the biggest wipe risk, esp. during NA times (ESPECIALLY during NA late night), Dafunk is probably 2nd but really, DF and Ex aren't really a wipe risk for the most part. HUG is so small things can go wrong, but they play smart at Fafhogg. I haven't seen them do much else, and they don't do Ixi (the Prestige fights against Ixi are popcorn and Snickers affairs due to lack of geared Rangers).

For all the Midgards/Quetz inc drama speculation, all I can say is: it could be worse. Neither server is having Bismarck's cesspool vomited all over them.

I've been on Midgards before, and it has(had?) some skillful players on it, and a thriving endgame scene when I left. I hope the merger breathes some new life into the game before.. the 99 level cap sucks the life back out of the game.

It's my understanding that they're raising the cap and then increasing the difficulty of the NMs? So in other words, aside from access to new SJ stuff, it's back to where it was before but with about 3million exp difference per job to grind through?

You got it wrong. They said they're making NEW nms and endgame for people to do when the caps raise. The current stuff or at least most of it will stay uncapped/the same ergo easier to lowman/solo.
