This line of thinking is what is holding you back. Last night at Khimaira, we had 2 PLD/NIN's, me on SAM/NIN, and a SAM/THF. Guess who was tanking the majority of the fight? Me. Was I taking any damage? No more than either of the PLD's, with the added benefit of parrying and Seigan/Third eye if he went a bit double attack happy.Originally Posted by Konda

I did say it belongs on BLU, my comment said I wasn't sure if that was still good or not, because who uses BLU in end game? Lulz
No reason to need /THF for Ultima..you're just limiting damage potential by waiting 60 seconds.
Alright, I'll try this one more time.
Nobody is excluding blue mage, the topic is excluding blue mage. We're discussing melee jobs, and in terms of what we're talking about fighting, blue mage acts as a mage. Learn to read or go the fuck away.
I disagree, it's a viable sub when you want to manage hat and not feed Tp.
I give up.

You tell me how sub drg pulls ahead of thf in that scenario.
What scenario? Ultima BLU/THF?
You want the obvious answer?
Change to another fucking job.
Why was I spamming F5 for this?
Most people don't realize how TP works, which is why people are afraid to feed TP. 2 PLD/NIN's meleeing a mob with 3 BLM's nuking will give a mob 100% TP in like 4 attack rounds (each PLD) and 1 nuke each (BLM's). So basically ~15 seconds per 100% TP.
Above 25% HP, mob's don't force TP usage. They can sit on 300 TP for 30+ seconds. There is no reason whatsoever to be afraid of TP feed, especially when most newer mobs have TP regain anyways, it's completely null. More damage > less
SAM/DRG will always trump SAM/THF. If you don't understand why, maybe take off the beer goggles and really think about it. /THF only forces a crit. On Gekko the damage increase isn't exactly stellar. I'll go back to my example of Khimaira last night. SAM/THF's Gekko averaged ~850, every 60 seconds.
My /NIN was doing anywhere from 450-650, always going at exactly 100TP, and doing probably 4x the WS's as the /THF.
Personally I don't use /DRG for end-game events. The hate shed from high jump isn't enough in most situations to keep the mob off you, high jump's timer just isn't often enough, and 25% hate loss doesn't equate to safety for more than ~2 weapon skills.
