I would appreciate it too, but I didn't think it was gonna happen. Not with all the sidegrades that have been going on forever.
I'm still doubtful that SE has the balls to make almost everything out right now become worthless. But they surprised me with the Magian Trials so far. Maybe with the armor Magian trials, they'll include some stuff similiar to how they have relics included now. Salvage gears perhaps. Maybe Abjuration gears, but I hope not. Doubtful relic armor, as most either sucks or it offers something pretty unique, like THF gloves or Duelist's Chapeau or Sorc Tonban.
inb4 HEY I THREW MY APOC + RIDILL INTO A SYNERGY FURNACE~
thusly making ridill useful again~
I can't remember who you were on Garuda - refresh my memory? I definitely remember your BG name, though.
And yeah, I'm a clown, I love to make people laugh. How does this make killing Khimaira after letting mules camp it for hours upon hours for a hefty payout any less awesome?![]()
not this shit
Not that I'm advocating following the heard per se, but when everyone is against you, its probably in your best interests to at least consider the possibility that everyone else is correct.
You're wrong, everyone knows your wrong, and math supports that you're wrong. Go away.
Should deflate your ego a bit, three people is everyone.
ok, so to recap:
1) /thf is useless 100% of the time (outside of farming with TH, where /dnc will probably net you less downtime resulting in better drops per hr anyway)
2) hagun is beaten by soboro 100% of the time in any circumstance.
3) if you dont roll out of WG to an event without 1mage+1brd in your pt, your LS sucks, you suck and you should come on another job or find a better LS
Did I miss anything?
WTF is up with BG, you sound more retarded than fucking allah lately.
Saying "the mafz proovz it tho!" is a pisspoor attempt to disprove many people parsing (the only real way to see if x>y) over a few years and actually doing things in practice and not on fucking paper.
Yes, all of the above things might prove to be right, provided all of the planets allign and you're in a perfect buff situation with perfect other players who play their jobs flawelessly, but the fact of the matter is that the planets haven't alliagned, you're not always in a perfect buff situation and you sure as fuck can't rely on other people as much as yourself.
all in all, you're putting way too much thought and theorycrafting into something which can be done just as effectively with a few more players in full AF and no merits.
SAM/THF to JoL, /TA DRGs, DRG super jumps it off?!
edit:then again JoL is weak enough to zerg down in a couple of mins now
edit2: our shell also uses a couple of SAM/THFs at odin, i know SAM's can cotank /nin, but our hate issue is with the RNG's, not SAMs, so it works for us! our RNG's /DRG and use -enm gear, but BRD+COR makes them reach hate cap fast
i know i know, suck less, kill self, level better tanks etc etc, point being /thf can work, however the majority of the times where is /thf useful i agree that there are better subs.
Saying that math isn't correct is so stupid on so many levels. I can make ANY, ABSOLUTELY ANY RESULT I WANT if I turn on a parser and post it here expecting it to be taken as fact.
I can go out on THF, with level 1 mobs, and only claim them with sneak attack 5000 times, and post the parse showing 100% accuracy over 5000 swings, with a 100% critical hit rate. Does this prove without a doubt that the absolutely conditions I parsed are irrefutably correct? Only a monkey would believe so.
you're advocating the use of a subjob based on the uselessness of a group, that's what's bad.
not sure i agree, if you're basing a subjob as good when you're in X situation, you should also be fit to class it as good when say.. the tank isn't up to scratch. similiar to why some shells uses /nin in dyna xarca. i would say /nin is a crap sub in dyna-xarc cause i have good healers, if i didn't, then it would be the best for the situation
saying again to reiterate that: i personally find /thf pretty useless
What are you talking about? BG has always been about what works the absolute best or the optimal way of doing things. Allah and KI have always had way more whiny bitches saying they do shit just a well with crappier set ups and complaining why they can't beat PM Omega/Ultima with any 6 jobs. It's not thinking outside the box when you're doing worse than the proven method. To sit there and ask, "Do I need to have a mage with haste and a brd for a regular endgame?" Then yes people will think less of you. Can you do shit without Brds and enough haste? Sure but you can't seriously think you're doing it just as well as without.
I'm not even going to get into /Thf that's just retarded to argue about given even you could only come up the extremely limited scenarios for using it.
Hey, idiot? None of the things you mentioned have anything to do with what buffs you're getting. Regardless of whether you have no bards or ten bards, /NIN is going to be better for overall group dynamic, and /DRG is going to be infinitely better for shedding unwanted enmity. And on the same token, no buffs are going to make Hagun better than Soboro for pure damage purposes(go back and actually read what Thorny said if you'd care to understand why that's in bold).
So.Fucking.Dumb.
There's no math in FFXI. Thorny and his cronies made it all up so they could be the kings of the underground FFXI world (BG). It's all a sham I tells ya!
Requesting thread lock due to people completely missing the point of the fucking topic.
http://www.zeldawiki.org/images/9/93...esman_rage.gifSaying "the mafz proovz it tho!" is a pisspoor attempt to disprove many people parsing (the only real way to see if x>y)
Are you really that dense?
Math:
- Accurateness of results solely depend on how accurate your models are (and if you did the math right, obviously, but some of us did pass highschool). In FFXI's case, the models we currently have (especially melee, which is the topic at hand) are very fucking accurate, if not perfect.
Parses:
- The only way to get a reliable parse is through the ceteris paribus assumption ('holding all other factors equal'), which in FFXI (and in most other real life situations) is fucking impossible, a ridiculous assumption really if you consider people having to be identical (spoilers: not even cloning does that). People say that mathed results only count in a vacuum; it's actually the other way around. You'd have to be in a vacuum for parses to be feasibly reliable.
