Crazy how 4~5 years later people still aren't done with CoP.
The gear might not become too outdated but damn. Dynamis, Limbus, Einherjar, Sea and all of the current HNM are going to be so damn easy that it won't even be fun anymore. Knowing Square Enix, there probably won't be replacements for all of these endgame instanced events for years to come.
Wonder what will all be soloable after this.
You guys are forgetting something about leveling up: YOU GAIN SKILL LEVEL WITH EVERY LEVEL.
Lets assume they increase the level cap and add no new gear. Pimp gear is STILL as pimp as you can get. Aegis with 415 shield skill, Excalibur with 415 Sword. SE does not have to add a single item to the game. If you are a DRG with 77+61 STR, at 99 you'll be 105+61 with no change in gear.
Sure they'll add some new gear, but this isnt WoW. PLD99 wont have 13kHP, 1200MP, 280 VIT and 3k def based on some new gear set. More realistically, (and i am using PLD as an example only) the new set of Relic ver. 2 will have a body with stats like:
Mega-Valor Cuirass
(Body)
Def+70
Vit +10
HP+ 90
Enhances "Sentinel" Effect
All Races
Lvl 95
That is probably all they'll do with gear, just a slight upgrade in combination with your naked skill and stat increases. This leaves all the status bonus gear unchallenged, like ACC. MACC, Enhances "whatever" Job "TRAIT". They wont break the haste cap. SE has a habit of leaving older gear in it's place atop the food chain.
Back when they raise the cap from 50-75 was there any adjustments to KA/Sim/whatever was considered HNM back then?
Noone remembers how people used to solo serket and behemoth and shit? They were both released at lower level caps, but still had money drops worth getting. If you look at all the existing content balanced for level 75, alot of things will still be worth doing. Nyzul will still be done so people can get WS (unless they make it automatic to get at level 80 or so). Certain drops will still be wanted from Dynamis if they arent updated in newer content (standouts are THF and RDM xarc drops).
We have to wait and see exactly what is in store but I can imagine that if some of this level 75 cap content is still worthwhile we will see an increase in drop rates to go along with it.
In regards to the new HNM coming at each update this year, I hope that the ones coming out in March are designed for the level cap at the June update. Will give big ls 3 months to attempt to take them down at 75 cap just to see if they can pull it off, and if not, then it gives us all 3 months to live in fear of them.
I can't really see how people aren't excited overall, yes I understand the anxiety, but I'm pretty sure in a year when everyone feels like they are playing a whole new game everyone is going to laugh at alot of the shit getting posted right now.
Not sure if this has been posted yet, but here's a theoretical exp chart.
76-77 - 46,000
77-78 - 48,000
78-79 - 50,000
79-80 - 52,000
80-81 - 54,500
81-82 - 57,000
82-83 - 59,500
83-84 - 62,000
84-85 - 64,500
85-86 - 67,000
86-87 - 69,500
87-88 - 72,000
88-89 - 74,500
89-90 - 77,000
90-91 - 80,000
91-92 - 83,000
92-93 - 86,000
93-94 - 89,000
94-95 - 92,000
95-96 - 95,000
96-97 - 98,000
97-98 - 101,000
98-99 - 104,000
99 cap - 106,999
Should SE stick to the current exp incremental pattern, we're looking at an additional 1,788,500 exp from 75 cap to 99 cap.
I get the odd feeling that they'll actually increase it even further, at least for the 90s, but I've got nothing to back that up.
Hmm. At least with Lv99 we'll finally be able to kill AV? Yes? Maybe? Ah, fuck it.
Anyways, with a Lv99 cap, I wonder if they'll ninja in more jobs at some point. I want to see some Tactics jobs get in. Gogo Elementalist and Calculator.
I'm sure it was discussed already, but they said there was quest to make your gears more powerful, right?
Anyone else think it's going to be a backward level sync that increase your gears power. this way, nothing at 75 will be outdated immediatly, and the lv 75 gears will be as good as lv 99 once scaled up.
If it works anything like Gear syncing now at 99 a Haub might have 5STR 5DEX -8AGI 10ACC 11Attack and -30EVA =P
But in all seriousness yes, the "Magian Moogle" quest line allows you to upgrade your armor apparently up to 80 times or something.
