We gotta open our minds to some interesting possibilities. RDM/NIN meleeing from behind, spamming Ni eles, with Innin, and possibly a SATA target. THF with Innin then SATAs the tank, and Accomplices the rest of the hate off the RDM. I'd love to see the mages be self sufficient, and let RDM go back to being a melee again instead of a babysitter. The combos may even make RDM/NIN a viable tank with Yonin.

Along those lines, a Yonin THF could be a viable tank, with even more evade, and Collaborator hate control.

RDM/NIN already is a viable -and many times- the preferred tank.

Plus at 99 who knows, even more haste, Joyeuse/Justice, Teir 1 Enspells (Which will be much more powerful thanks to the extra skill levels that i hope come with 99) and access to a few more Dual wield traits they might not be AWFUL.

Course Joy/Just hopefully being augmentable via Magian Moogles with some Acc... who knows maybe even Enspell Damage+, depends on how wide the augment options are..

Would be nice to augment joytoy with dmg+, since that's the main reason it was never really a viable alternative to ridill (back in the olden days)! I'm hoping SE continues to buff 2H though personally. DW outside of NIN, DNC, sometimes THF is lameness.

Its true he has some Fk'd up choices in gear, but outside of Goliard body (Haste+4%) Toreadors (+2Acc -6 Attack) and Ancient Torque (DEX+4(as a result 11acc)) he's pretty decent, certainly above average =O

I know that RDM/NINs can tank just fine as they are, but they can't hold hate worth a damn. Mitigation is only half of tanking. Yonin not only gives them even more mitigation, but it gives a measure of hate control so they can hold a mob off of an alliance, without THF assistance, or a huge head start on CE.

'cept a red mage can hit 25% haste on gear, meaning .5% off cap? I mean, I guess you may gain a bit of accuracy here and there, but let's face it, there's not going to suddenly be tons of amazing haste gear flying all over the place.

Without derailing this into a RDM tanking thread, RDM can hold hate very well. Dispel, cure4, sleep, bind, blind... it has pleanty of hate tools available to it.

What it doesnt have is something like sentinal or invincable to give large amounts of VE instantly, but this isn't generally a problem, unless the mob hate resets frequently.

Eh i guess i mostly meant the dual wield and the possibility to put haste on previously un-hasted sets of armor and free-up extra slots for stats much more needed for RDM like Accuracy and etc.

People weren't bottle capped at 50 for 2+yrs. Many weren't even at 50.
