That interview gets me even more excited for all of this. It's good to know they've taken into consideration the ramifications of doing something like this and accounted for it.
Also, to all the haters:
Listen up. This game is 8 years old now (almost), it would not be 8 years old if people didn't play it. Say what you will, but people wouldn't play it without actually liking something about it. I hear people say all the time that they would quit if it weren't for their friends or what not, which is bullshit, because there are easier and free ways of keeping in touch and having fun with friends over the internet. They actually like playing some aspect of the game.
If you don't like the game, that's your opinion. You're welcome to quit at your leisure. But if you think that you quitting means the game is dead or dying, then you have a severe superiority complex that you should probably look at receiving psychiatric help for. It also makes you an idiot.
The game is not dead, it's not dying. This is exactly what this game needed and I expect to see this game running for a few more years to come.
So in the words of Willy Wonka:
GOOD DAY SIR.
Go for it! Spam your magic!
Ok, Fixed ... For Real.
HP and MP don't invert, but do slow down across the board. Stats flip ... the weak get stronger faster.

A man can dream, a man can dream. Also can't wait for an 900 Healing Breath IV with wyvern HP gear+Wyrm Armet, 1800 with DB! 360 damage Wyvern Elemental Breath II's, 720 with DB! Man I can't wait.
I know, more speculation, but I was just wondering what the XP limits will look like.
If we keep the 2k per level that starts from Lv 69, 27k into 89 will be halfway between 75 and 99, you'll have to get 90k to get from 98 to 99. If the same increase from 51 to 75 happens 76 to 99, you'll have to get 260k to get from 98 to 99.

New Half-way point will be 82ish. Unless they icnrease EXP Chain modifiers after chain 5, or increase EXP cap per mob killed past 300 for level 76+, or reduce the EXP curve like they did in 2006. Good Luck.
120k tnl,12 merit points...ouch.
The amount of EXP required to level from 75-99, under the current growth, will be like leveling from 1-75 almost 3x. Sucks for people with multiple jobs but maybe we'll see a short resurgance of people 'maining' one job.
I can see many BRD mains taking this opportunity to NOT main BRD.
Interesting.... if we had -this- SE at the beginning, I can only imagine the future of the game. Everything said sounds... logical and justified, exactly how a company should present itself.
If this level of "no more hiding from your questions" continues, along with the direction of upgrading what we already have to allow for higher tier content to be integrated quickly, I have a feeling that I'm really, really going to like FFXIV.
Also, Xanthe, I love you. I may come to Carb just to say hi.
